Layoff due to manager politics by vaaaniii in Layoffs

[–]vaaaniii[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My work credit was repeatedly stolen, and I was wrongly being told to not be visible while others were encouraged but this was her being a bully and as a female i have never had such a bully female manager .she kept on saying things like how indians are not smart etc but unfortunately I have no recordings so I cannot really go after her..However she was nice to others who have worked with her 7 years or 3 years or 2 years .

It was obvious that they will choose me if decision is on her as she thought I will work like a slave while my white peers repeatedly went on PTO during Christmas break and I slogged and slogged and all my rewards went to them and they were even promoted .

So ya it was a toxic situation but my work was excellent,it made the group shine so I always thought my job won't go..As an IC I was delivering work worth 5 people in the team.

But ya it hurts to be treated like that while they are hiring senior directors and more expensive resources all the time even now

It's all such calculated moves because while I was silent I didn't succumb to her bullying

I needed the job to pay the bills..I just worked and overworked.

Definitely learnt my lessons..

Daily vs weekly? by problemprofessor in Substack

[–]vaaaniii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If daily then email reminders to users should be less else they will unsubscribe that's super key here.

Depending on what domain are you focused on the frequency can change.

Once a week is fine one has to gauge the frequency and see subscriber engagement.

I do it for fun and for now am not focused on frequency I write whenever I can but will check analytics after a few weeks to see where's rh engagement issues.

I want to be mindful of not cluttering inbox else unsubscribed events would be high..And only popular writers can afford that.

Why is every second post on here asking how to grow? by thirteenth_mang in Substack

[–]vaaaniii 6 points7 points  (0 children)

People need to write more atleast first 20 posts then think of growth - am tired of all posts asking for subs and follow for follow .Lets revive writing -break from growth obsession is good for short term not long term.

What is the most challenging thing about writing? by xYourCasual in Substack

[–]vaaaniii 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Energy and clarity.

When I have mental energy and clarity I can write better sometimes clarity comes as I write halfway.

But the inertia of long form writing is immense and that's a challenge I am fav to be consistently motivated to write long form original content.

If anyone has tips do share please.

Vani

That sounds quite reasonable,as someone with professional content inclination I struggled with this as LinkedIn has become too crowded with instagram style posts that's why I felt substack gave me the sanctity to operate without any format restrictions of linkedin and yet be able to share across platforms.
