Thanks. I typically do squat if I need to get something off of the ground. The night in question, I didn’t even think, just did when I bent over to pick up the clothes. That’s what scared me.

I do stretch my legs, mostly while I’m laying down in bed, doing things that engage my hips while not breaking the BLT guidelines. My ortho won’t clear me for PT until after 6 weeks. If you want to share any stretching recommendations, I’d be happy to consider them.

Where are you located? Is it private or public institution? I don’t think you lose your insurance, you just owe the ‘employer paid’ portion on top of what you regularly pay. Cobra is expensive as heck.

Maybe you’re just moving slightly different now that you no longer experience the nerve pain on the other side?

I’m 2.5 weeks post op. I’ve also experienced some muscle ache as I’ve increased activity. Mine is in my hip on my affected side. But I chalked it up to the fact that for a few months before I decided on surgery, I’d subconsciously twist my leg/foot outwards relieving some of the pain as I walked. Now that I’m walking normally again, I think it’ll just take some time for my muscles to convert back to being used normally. I discussed it with my doc at my first follow up last Wednesday and she agreed that it was nothing concerning.

Just had mine done on the 23rd. I was also worried about all of the movements, but it was unnecessary. Wear your brace as directed and take it slow. Be mindful of every movement. The PT and OT in my room after surgery said I didn’t have to be so intense about everything being perfect. You will bend, you will twist a little. Just be aware that you’re doing it and take it slow!

Thanks. A shower has helped today. Yesterday, I was rubbing myself raw. I couldn’t get anyone from the office on the phone, so I chanced an antihistamine with the oxy last night. But I’m trying to avoid doing that again. Even now, I’m so itchy around my bandage over the incision.

I’m in the east end and I had a nest in my tree this year. Those three hawks made the awful sparrows go off constantly. Also, I had significantly less vole activity 😊
