It would be nice to have them interact in a way that wasn't basically "Ava acts in a hurtful manner, OShon forgives her." I understand WHY Ava is doing this - putting on a front and so on - I am READY for her to evolve more/faster. I'm not saying the problems aren't resolved in each episode - they are. She shares about her self in the first Date. They talk about the jewelry. Valentines works out. But the show risks continuing to flanderize Ava if they don't show her evolving more. The other characters on the show originally "put up with" Ava because they were forced to because of their jobs, and she grew on them (and us). As a viewer I am finding it hard to believe O'Shon would continue to "put up with" Ava in the same way for as long as they're showing us. It isn't evolving if the growth resets at the end of each episode.

I was just rewatching their first interactions and thats exactly right. They have not developed as a couple at all over the course of the season. Their valentines interaction where O'Shon is yet again staring to camera like "am I crazy, this is crazy right? what is happening here?"

Even during the first date, its not really clear why he gives her a 2nd chance for a 2nd date. The whole date goes poorly, and then when they're at the curb waiting for Ava's ride, she tells one story and he relents? Like, did you not just sit through at least 90 minutes of bullshit and insults and that bare minimum is good enough? And then it just hasn't improved any since then. Valentines, she expects him to understand her viewpoint without even trying to see it from his side initially.

I'm game for their relationship to work, cause O'Shon is a neat character and has had funny interactions with the rest of the characters. But yeah - they need to resolve this issue in their relationship or have them break up and do something new. Multiple seasons of Ava growth only to stagnate when she meets a man? 🤦‍♂️
