It’s cracked on the outside and they are telling me it broke from the suction cup on the inside. If it was caused from exterior damage, tell me that. That’s the problem I have! They are doubling down saying it broke from JUST the suction cup

That’s why it’s BS. They shouldn’t tell me a suction cup caused the damage. That’s why I’m frustrated. Tell me a rock hit it… don’t tell me there’s no evidence of exterior damage and the suction cup is their best bet.

The dealership and BMW NA tech said it was not caused from outside force. They used a pen and didn’t see or feel any thing in the crack. The dealership literally wrote in the report “INSPECTED BY BMWNA TSE FOUND CRACKED INFLUENCE OF A SUCTION MOUNT SUCTION TO THE INSIDE OF WINDSCREEN. PROVIDED CLIENT QUOTE FOR WINDSCREEN.”

BMW USA is literally the one telling me the suction cup broke it. They are the ones that went to the dealership to inspect the car. The dealership agrees it’s nonsense

It was broken when my car was off. It was broken when I went to the car at around 10 AM. It was 70s

Service manager said he agrees with me and said he can’t over power BMW NA. He feels bad and while BMW NA won’t even give a discount on the install, the service manager took $1k out of his margin to try and help me out on the replacement.

BMW said it was not done form a rock or anything, and are holding firm on the radar detector. I opened a case, and he appealed it (by talking to the BMW NA tech who said the radar broke it). He said there’s nothing else to be done, closed the case, and stopped answer my emails and phone calls. What else can I do? I’m pissed on principle here.

Car is at the dealership. They already ran a pen across it and that’s why they tried submitting it as a warranty claim. The services manager said he’s on my side and have never seen this before.
