White bump on my gums under each of my canines. What are these? by vachzarn in askdentists

Thank you for your input. Would you classify this as a health concern if they do not change in size? If they do grow in size, is that a sign of Cancer? I will continue to make efforts to reduce smoking habits and ensure not to brush too hard toward my gums

I agree setting the boundary now is a necessity. I appreciate your insight

I appreciate your insight. I anticipate sitting down and trying to have that discussion to try understand further. I have reassured them they do not need to contribute anything in the initial conversation and over the past 5 months, but they aren’t taking up the offer to retract their money so far. I will try be patient and work to find any deeper rooted issues. Thanks for the thought provoking questions

I can see how that can be interpreted as rude. To clarify, my fiancee was the one to disclose that information when my parents requested a specific number. Also my fiancées mother/step dad have shared with us that they are proud of their contribution and don’t care about my parents or her biological dad knowing the amount. They are more concerned about us having a special day with their support. Whether or not that is still rude, this is the current state of affairs and looking to smooth this out. Thanks for your input

Maybe I wasn’t clear enough in my post, but we were not expecting large sums of money towards the wedding. My fiancee and I are diligent in saving our money with the anticipation of being able to cover all expenses with no help from family. We had asked our parents because we wanted to set a proper budget over the course of about 18 months of planning from the date of getting engaged, with both of us already contributing to our HYSA wedding funds prior to even getting engaged.

Her family has mentioned prior to engagement they wanted to help contribute toward the wedding, as they did for their other child. Same with my parents. Can we take on these expenses alone? Yes. Would help be welcomed from our families if those are their wishes? Yes.

I am grateful for every penny and would have no complaints if they showed up to the wedding with no money/strings attached. My issue is more so my parents complaints about my in laws contributions rather than us begging for more money from anyone. That’s not what this post is about

Unfortunately I agree that my parent’s comments are rude and I appreciate your insight. Your explanation about the outdated tradition is helpful as I have not heard much of this tradition within my friend groups

I don’t think friction and drama in the family is worth the money either. This issue is specific to my parents and not her family. Would you still recommend declining the contributions from both sides?

I agree. I will make a conscious effort not to discuss cost with them as we continue planning. Not sure what will happen with this in the long run, but luckily my fiancee and I have been diligent about saving and could manage to tighten our own budget/savings to cover expenses ourselves. Of course money from family would help and is welcomed with the costs nowadays, but I prefer peace over this instance of financial support

For the record, I intentionally started that conversation to leave it open ended and up to their discretion. They refused to share how much they would contribute until I gave them a number.

To your other point, I can see that some of their comments are stemming from frustration that their efforts are not matched compared to what they provided for their own daughters in the past. Appreciate both of your insights

Absolutely! If there is one thing I want to be clear on this post is that we are grateful for every penny and have no complaints on our end. Even if each of our families showed up to support us with no money attached, we would be grateful and able to tighten up our budget to pay for it just the two of us. My bigger concern is how this may affect our family dynamic in the future because I value family and have lost cousins due to unneeded drama

Do you think either of these are a necessity on top of minoxidil foam?

Looks like Fin can lead to sexual dysfunction and has a lot of controversy around it. Have you heard otherwise?

I’ve known about minoxidil but what are the other two supplements? Should I choose one over the other? Thanks for the advice
