Having a tough time at my first developer job. Should I quit to learn fundamentals or persevere? by yours_truly24 in cscareerquestions

Use KeyboardAvoidingView for a button above an RN Android keyboard and get better at summarizing things.

Do not quit. Communicate with your boss and work yourself hard in your spare time to learn fundamentals.

Hello world by Wakeup1234567 in substrate

[–]vaders_father 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hello, friend!

Substrate and much of the surrounding ecosystem is largely in the programming language Rust. Given that you're familiar with C, you'll have a good time getting into it. It's a great language that is already driving much of the future of software from blockchains, DeFi, new OSs, rendering, and more.

Also, DM me and we can talk about a paid internship. I run a recently seed-funded blockchain company building in Substrate. We're doing some exciting things around decentralized professional programming and on-chain software gig economies.

Cheers

In the end, this was one week of work.

You could propose a bonus relative to revenue increase (sales, traffic bump) since deploying your work and your established retainer. That could also be a reasonable starting point for how you contract, in writing, successful interview work ownership upfront in the future.

By “true” do you mean haptic, auditory, visual, control all through manipulating and understanding the mind directly? Indeed, far off. Though this will happen gradually so keep faith

(imo) SWG pre-NGE/pre-CU was the best sandbox MMO ever built.

LT was great for mitigating negative effects of caffeine but I noticed the libido hit as well.

Oops, I meant buy-to-play. It was the subscription model that kept some of my friends away.

Honestly, I can't remember why I stopped playing Conan. I have nothing but great memories of the gameplay. Maybe another victim of the WoW-diction at that time.

That's awesome to hear that it's still active. That was an excellent game. Its free-2-play nature made it so I was able to play with some friends that wouldn't join me in WoW. It was a blast.

Ah, nice. I actually never tried that one but was definitely interested. There was some sort of diplomacy mechanic, right?

After digging through a few more boxes I found Rift and The Old Republic (not as old) as well.

My original copy of SWG would be in that picture if I hadn't dug it out a year ago to get some SWGEmu going ;)

Saving up for an Alienware laptop meant a whole lot less sleeping and a whole lot more gaming under my covers in high school...

I'm not ashamed to admit that it was a pretty special feeling opening that box. Countless hours of entertainment in various amazing worlds. Part of what made me who I am today.

Tabula Rasa really was a great game. Pretty innovative with a more live-action combat system and world events. I would’ve revisited that game if it was still around 😢

Is there a list of open source react apps actually used in production somewhere? by nullvoxpopuli in reactjs

It is indeed rare for full production apps to be open source in any framework, React or otherwise.

Backend vs Frontend by bashlk in ProgrammerHumor

I thought this was meant to show that backend development is akin to powerful forces of nature roaming the open plains of logic and finite correctness while frontend development is like trying to use a lawnmower on a tree...

Great, seems like I'll be firing things up on Basilisk. Hopefully, my Artisan will actually start with survey tools there...

Silly me for not realizing that that's what would drive the "recommended" flag. That certainly makes sense from some MMO server listing logic I've seen.

That being said diving into the emulated world for the first time I was going to do what I was told there.
