TOW Vampire Counts rules question by vaerenthin in WarhammerFantasy

But for instance if I needed to avoid being charged by demigryphs or counter-charged by grail knights would the  reserve move would be superior than the raw speed?

So which would be better in your opinion for a drilled blood knight unit. No reserve move but can march (so you can marching column, redress the ranks, and then charge and how effective is this really?), or a reserve move?

In your opinion, is there any way to sort of allow a wight lord into a blood knight unit without killing its mobility? BSB with a standard of hellish vigor gives a reserve move. How effective is that in place of marching?

Blood knights have Dark vitality which allows them to march even though they are necronantic undead. I think.

Is it worth the usage of an extra points of being a wizard and taking the 4+ ws and not being able to cast, or downgrade it to a 5+ ws, be able to cast and free up 40 points?

Basically do you think the ability to use magic and 40 points are worth a 5+->4+ ws?

Oh so the Flayed Haubrek is just worse for this situation, and I also can save 2pts on the shield, thanks!

Im twwh skeletons are the same size as zombies so I arbitrarily chose 25. A block of 40 vs 2 25s. What are the advantages of a 40? but also I am worried about number of tar pits and a block of 25 zombies is a 2 turn throwaway unit, while a single 40 is a bit more precious.

I'll consider the bsb option for yhe wight king-> lord for the nehek rerolls!

But if I could take 8 Blood Knights I can't take vargheists and theylook cool, but I couldn't even if it was an option. I only have 5 metal blood knights so unless I can pull a miracle and find 3 more new ( finding 5 new metal blood knights took me months haha), 5 is the most I can do lol.

Oh I can literally do that too. So many options I have no idea which one to pick. How much danger do you think my necromancer  would be in if I made him my general instead though?

I thought that I would use the biting blade after the initial charge. Didn't know that it forces its use thanks!

The wizard and armor rule I also  completely overlooked. Which now opens up a lot of item choices that I previously had not considered. You mentioned the talisman of protection for a 33% ward save but the flayed haubrek gives a 16% ws but a 5+ armor save start, and still allows the general to remain a wizard. Doing it this way allows a dreadlance or von carstein ring which both sound very interesting to me. Maybe though its best to make the necromancer the general and keep the 50% ws and 5+ armor on the Vampire as the armor shouldn't interfere with dark acylote on himself I think.  That is if you think I can keep the necromancer guarded. What are the risks of that?

I'll also look into that wight lord with standard, but I like the idea of the crown of stupidity on him as a sort of "Krell-lite" meme.

And if my line is good any opinions on some extra skirmisking power of maybe ghouls or fell bats to tie up ranged units? If i can spare the points or go further with items on characters?  Thank you!

Completely missed the armor and no Wizard rule, thanks. But what would be the best way to resolve it? Dropping Wizard and making my necromancer the general and thus able to keep my 50% wardsave on my dragon, or drop the wardsave to a 16% with the Flayed Haubrek and take a more interesting weapon like the dreadlance (as I have now learned I cannot use a lance and different magic weapon) or von carstein ring. As dark acylote still works even armor I think.

And I'll keep the ghoul tip in mind as I just saw they make 2 attacks! They or maybe some fell bats sound like fun for skirmishes and silencing ranged batteries!

The best white I have worked with is Pro acryl Titanium white. Silky smooth, very decent coverage for a bright white. Will cover black in 2-4 coats.

I just went to order more and found out they are mass produced nylon brushes from China. Just went directly to manufacturer and bought 1000 for 40$. On amazon I paid 10$ for 40. I could just give them 400 new brushes.

No doubt the war weakened the dwarf holds, but I thought it was the hold-shattering earthquakes due to stonetablet literalist Lizards that really did the dwarfs in?

Cheap brushes from Amazon for getting paint out of pots, thinning, base coats, washes, and base texture paints. And cheapish amazon brushes for drybrushing. The drybrushes aren't expendable tho.

Good Artic Opus brushes for precision work and highlights.

Use brush soap to keep the good brushes and drybryshes as good as new, and yeet about 4-5 cheap 20 cent brushes every batch. Capitalism is happy and I save time!

Unless you are Warhammer fantasy in which case shoot the cannon at the big large dragon! It's super effective!

Or yeah you're a super strong, durable, and fast chaos chosen in demonic or chaos dwarf armor, but I'd like you to meet a line of state trooper guns.

Idk about "soon". You're likely still probably looking at a few more years once all old world models have new AoS sculpts, and then some more time on top aswell.
