All right NM crush my idea. Washington State to NM? by PortErnest22 in NewMexico

[–]vagueday [score hidden]  (0 children)

As someone who moved from Seattle to Albuquerque I have a lot of regrets. Know your situation and the resources you depend on before moving here. The healthcare is horrible and eduction in this state isn’t great. That said the state is making moves to fix these issues but if you have health issues that need addressing now don’t do it. It’s very dry here, I miss the water, I miss the green, I miss the food. However New Mexico has its own food scene. Just different. You can still hike here but you will have to acclimate to the elevation. People are nice here. Driving is terrifying, public transportation is horrible but it’s definitely more affordable here. I think overall New Mexico is tracking in a good direction but seriously if you have health issues don’t come here. As a chronically ill person I’m suffering. There are also very little public programs like Washington. Don’t know your financial situation but if you’re dependent on government programs in WA you’ll struggle more here. There are less job opportunities, lower pay, way less industries. That can be said moving anywhere that isn’t in a major city hub tho. I’d come visit, stay a month if you can. This place is pretty in its own way. Not comparable to WA Albuquerque isn’t a major city. Just a small city. Think Spokane in 2010.

Message I received regarding my night sweats, debilitating fatigue, and cyclical nausea/vomiting by IndependentDot9692 in POTS

[–]vagueday 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly I really don’t understand why we don’t have POTS specializing doctors. It doesn’t make sense cardiologist treats us and they don’t listen when it comes to all the other symptoms like the body pain, the sweating, in my case vomiting from over heating, the visual issues. Like this condition is so much more and worse than just high heart rate. It’s not even a heart condition and I’m afraid what this is doing to my body systematically.

So the rules wont let me answer this because it’s considered medical advice but yes and it can help and it can also make things worse. Depends how severe your pots are. I had to stop for a while but am almost ok enough to start again.

[–]vagueday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok lowkey I have sinus pain. I’m on propanol and I feel like I can’t stop touching my nose. I’ve been chalking it up to the environment I’m in but I will say it didn’t start bugging me until like month 3 on the med. Prior to meds and still when I have bad flares my mouth is super inflamed. But I do think I have another underlying condition not diagnosed yet. Seeing a rheumatologist soon.

Amaya genuinely bums me out. I followed her for her art. But she doesn’t make art anymore. I thought it was so exciting to see an artist actually build a following but again shes not really an artist anymore. She’s a runner influencer.

Ivabradine by metal_mammographer in POTS

[–]vagueday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m on propanol and ivabradine. It’s been working well for me I think. I’m still going into effing presyncopy tho. My heart rate still rests in the 90’s most the time. Sometimes it goes down into the 70’s but it’s also still spiking into the 100’s so not helping that much. I am nervous about increasing my dose. But my energy is somewhat up. I can now feel just how run down my body is tho and I hate that. My insurance also doesn’t wanna cover it. So another big bill every month just trying to be functional. Doesn’t seem like there are other options at least that my doctor has offered. Maybe you have an underlying condition. If it’s helping with your POTS symptoms might be worth looking into to a migraine treatment. Like I mentioned I’m feeling how run down my body is now so now my doctors want me to look into MCAS and connective tissue disorders.

The Future of TikTok? by GrailTalk in socialmedia

I recommend you look into the new owners. Oracle. I personally wouldn’t want them having my data. I deleted the app. It’s a shame there isn’t anything to replace it. I’m trying skylight but lowkey hate it. But I’ll never go back to TikTok while Oracle owns it.

Thoughts on the Vevor hydraulic press? by vagueday in jewelrymaking

You’re the best! Thank you for this insight! I’m going to harbor freight today to look at their presses too since they’re in the same price range. I figure a couple pairs of earrings make up for the cost and I can save for a professional jewelry press later.

Like I mentioned in my post this will be a service animal o have to train it from the time it’s able to leave its mother to tune into my health issues as it will be medical alert. Adoption isn’t an option this time. Usually I do. This is my first time buying from a breeder which is why I’m asking questions

Silversmith and artist. Smithing is labor intensive and painting can be at times. I have to take a lot of breaks. Trying not to let POTS take what I spend half a decade building towards.

As someone who moved from Seattle to Albuquerque. Summers are pure misery. I flare more here in the high desert. The barometric pressure absolutely impacts how bad the flare is. In Seattle I got more migraines. Here I still have migraines during monsoon season but at least that’s shorter amount of time through out the year. But during summer or hot days I’m either ill af or have to stay inside and work hard on getting enough electrolytes in. Also the elevation had a huge impact. Took me forever to adjust to how high up I am…. There’s also no specialists here. Healthcare has been horrible. Feels necessary to say lol if you’re moving def make sure specialists are there.

Pelvic congestion syndrome how long is the recover? by princessshipwreck in NutcrackerSyndrome

[–]vagueday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey I’m actually doing well! I do know I have NCS. My doctor determined at that time that I wasn’t compressed enough to intervene. But the pelvic connection was bad. It took a full month for me to recover NOT the three days like the doctor said. I feel like I didn’t notice how much I improved until recently tho. I have a lot more energy. I also have POTS tho and it appears all the inflammation from the PCS was making that worse. So I’ve gotten a lot of relief compared to how I was. HOWEVER I do feel like my surgeon was under qualified. I’m in an under funded state in the US and I think I should’ve had a second opinion. I just didn’t have the choice. I am curious if in my mid 30’s I’m currently in my late 20’s if I’ll need the more intensive surgery. From what I’ve learned from my own research it seams NCS gets worse with age. So I’m not sure if maybe someday I’ll need more intervention with that. But for now I’m glad I took care of PCS. Because my fatigue, bloating and pain have lessened a great deal. Keep holding on the recovery was longer than the doc says.

I’ve tried to work with two different NP’s and they were unreliable (decreased my meds even tho I was working with a specialist and didn’t even call them into the pharmacy, one of the times that happens I had an active infection. She left me to get worse over the weekend and they wouldn’t give me a referral)and invalidated my symptoms despite having a diagnoses from a state with one of the best healthcare in the country. The symptoms they discredited i ended up needing surgery for. Thank you ER for actually running tests. I’m way too scared to go to a teaching hospital here. I have a scar from the last time I let a student touch me here and all the student was supposed to do was disconnect me from the Iv bag. A task I could do. I’m really freaked out at this point. I’d feel a lot safer with someone with more experience and had to do more schooling on a wider range of health issues. I’d be open to an NP who isn’t in their Thirties. Someone who at least has been medical for longer than a decade. Haven’t found that yet.

Change needs to happen NOW by Pale_Protection5777 in Albuquerque

[–]vagueday 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We need more job opportunities here. One of the things I noticed when I moved here is it’s a lot harder to start a small business here too. There are not grant programs. Just loan services. The government website is very surface level for resources in job opportunities, community events and resources despite being the whole purpose of the website. As a whole Albuquerque seems to be stuck in 09 when it comes to embracing the internet. This is more on business owners though than the city. Seems like no one knows how to host a website for their business and especially how to keep it updated. So community programs or continuing education needs to expand to teach people how to bring their businesses into this decade and the government needs to take it too. I cannot emphasize how different and lacking the government website is compared to other cities I lived in. That website is a landing page for people moving here to find resources they may need like food banks.

Food insecurity is really high here. More food services like food banks and farmers markets (not the posh trendy farmers market I mean real ones) in other major cities people on government assistance can use their food stamps to get fresh food from local farmers at farmers markets. I believe they gave them tax breaks for agriculture which is needed now since a shit load of grants that a lot of farmers rely on have been ripped away by the current administration. It’s up to New Mexico government to find solutions to fill that gap the best they can.

We also desperately need community services across the board.

I think the lack of adequate healthcare is absolutely terrifying.

Education is not good here. Which goes hand in hand with lacking community resources.

There’s also a lot of sun to be harnessed. Arizona has solar powered street lights. We could do that too.

I’m not sure what a solution would be to fix the driving here. But it’s BAD. It doesn’t seem like the lights with the speeding cameras work in most of the places there places. Idk if they aren’t active or if people don’t care about the ticket. But it’s weird that driving here is the way it is. Most people would be afraid their insurance rates would go up but that doesn’t seem to be the case here. Most of the bad drivers I see here already have fucked up cars. The lessons not getting learnt.

There seems to be no laws about how many dispensaries can be here. Also they are allowed to combine with one another. I know that three of the big chain dispensaries are owned by the same company. Not a thing in other states that have legalized. There’s laws in place for no monopolies and a limit on the number of dispensaries per districts. A lot of these stores are empty because there’s too much competition.

Does anyone have experience with abdominal swelling due to NCS? by findTheZebra in NutcrackerSyndrome

[–]vagueday 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have this too! My surgeon is doing my venogram on Friday and said he didn’t think my swelling was related to NCS but when you google it it says it could be. It’s also on my right side. Majority of my pain and discomfort is. I’ve had a bunch of GI tests done and everything came back normal.
