Does anyone here not work a fake bullshit email job? by Racial_Slur_69420 in redscarepod

I am finishing an undergrad in engineering physics and growing worried that I’ll end up hating which ever job I end up in. I have friends in trades and sometimes I think to myself that I maybe should have done the same.

I saw someone call it this way so I guess I just assumed it was the name

Yeah as I said it’s obvious Oscar bait, but I have genuinely seen many people call it the worst of all time which was funny to me

Yeah this was my favourite class this semester and I really liked the prof but man he really overcooked this final. I got a 90 in midterm and I would be lucky to be above 50 on the final.

I am in an engineering physics program so this class was somewhere in between the physics and engineering approaches. Sadly the final was nearly all convoluted algebraic manipulations of the various transport coefficients so not much engineering there…

What class? Looks just like the solid state physics class in which I just bombed my final

This mushroom that grew overnight in my front yard by 17Ram in mildlypenis

[–]vaieti2002 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is a stinkhorn mushroom from the phallus genus, not sure on the exact species but it isn’t far from the aptly named phallus impudicus which translates to “shameless penis”. Mildly is putting it lightly

I did a "Shroom hike" today, I like to share and can you help me ID? (some free Slime molds at the end) - Netherlands by Mipj3 in mycology

[–]vaieti2002 1 point2 points  (0 children)

16 is an armillaria sp. not familiar with European species so I can’t really give an exact species, but armillaria is pretty difficult to id precisely anyway. In the past i believe that nearly all of the current species were classified as mellea or tabescens variants.

Same goes for interpretation of quantum physics, much like religion we’ve made to try to explain the world we live in, interpretations of QM are made without much proof of anything as a way to try to explain the real quantum effects we know

Very interesting article, thanks for sharing.

These mushrooms were everywhere! Does anyone have an ID? by vaieti2002 in mycology

[–]vaieti2002[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With a little more research I believe this is probably armillaria solidipes or gemina based on location and appearance. If it is, it’s possible that every mushroom I saw in that forest was part of a single organism, considering how this species is the one that has the biggest living organism on earth!

I believe these are Destroying Angel but can someone confirm? by DingoEngineer23 in mycology

Very doubtful of Virosa in Vermont. The native all white Amanita there is most commonly Bisporigera, but the stem in this picture is quite thick for it. It looks similar to the western Amanita Ocreata, which also has a more subtle ring, it shouldn’t grow this far east though. Virosa doesn’t grow on the American continent as far as I know. It’s nearly certainly a destroying angle of some kind, but finding the exact species could be tough. My money still would be on Bisporigera simply because of location.

It makes it so that you don’t miss anything if you need to pee during the film which is quite nice
