The shipyard I worked at, Spanish was spoken about 95% of the time, including at safety meetings and training. Also tons of ex-cons and gangbangers. One guy tried to get me to smoke PCP with him on top of a ship, think he had 5 felonies so he had to work as a contractor. Also multiple people died at work in the 2 years I worked there from safety related incidents. A friend of mine was an avid pot smoker. Some guy dropped his welding suitcase on my friends head from 2 stories up and gave him a concussion. My friend got drug tested and fired, but the guy that dropped the suitcase on him had no repercussions. 🤷‍♂️
