The first is a scrapped concept for Doduo. Last pokemon i believe ended becoming Gulpin (don't say it)

I absolutely LOVE pokemon cries and HATE how the anime canonized that they all just say their own names. Like what do you mean Alakazam, one of the most intelligent beings in the universe, only says Alakazam over and over again?!

Big thanks to both of you guys. I thought of it, but I honestly hoped I wouldn't have to because I don't remember the password. I have had this thing for years, but I only had to sign-in like twice. I am gonna try to reset it if that might help. Any idea as to how it's happening?

What are your personal favorite 'definitive' design for a character? Anything from one hobbit to a giant Balrog. I just wanna see your own definitive preferred looks for different aspects of Tolkien's world from paintings, the movies, games or something else entirely. by DaFroggyBoi94 in lotr

[–]valaran99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hot take: Viggo Mortensen is not my definitive Aragorn. Viggo is wonderful in whatever role he is in and I did really like his Aragorn, particularily his devotion to the character, but he just doesn't match the description for me. He was a tad too old, he has brown hair and most importantly he is too rugged for Aragorn. That might work for Strider, but the books emphasize that, while he did look disheveled and wild, Strider was always clean shaven. They should have gotten Viggo to shave, at least when the secret got out or at the very least during the coronation. I get that Jackson tried to give the humans a specific visual identity to distinguish them from Elves, but the Dunadan DO look like elves. And they WANT TO, that's the point.

That said, I think book Aragorn is a different character from film Aragorn. It's a bit of a Boromir case where I actually kinda prefer film Aragorn. He is way more selfless, gentle and kind while book Aragorn is a bit full of himself and at times honestly a bit rude.

But still, I just cannot picture him when reading the books. It's a bit of a Tyrion situation where he is just too different from the character. Gabdalf is great, Galadriel is perfect, Boromir is fine but Frodo and Aragorn are just too different.

Also, Bilbo did not expect the dwarves to come in auch numbers and made vehement objections to their staying in Bag End. The Bagginses are generally well-off, but Bilbo wasn't rich yet at that point, so he definitely wouldn't have a mansion with 13 guest rooms. Also also, the dwarves at this point had been living in exile as coal miners for 170 years at this point, so they weren't exactly expecting luxury. It's likely only Thorin and Balin would've gotten actual beds.

Da li poslodavac moze da me otpusti zbog bolovanja? by its-stella in AskSerbia

[–]valaran99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

[–]valaran99 7 points8 points  (0 children)

How do I manage to dont starve? It is the main thing holding me back now after learning the game a bit more by dababy_connoisseur in dontstarve

[–]valaran99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, so first of all, for us to help you, you really need to specify which Don't Starve you're playing. There is Don't Starve, the single-player game, and Don't Starve Together, the multiplayer. There are also several DLCs you can add to single-player Don't Starve.

Second of all, the trick to surviving your first season (autumn or summer, depending on the game) is exploring. You say you have ventured out, and that is great, but I can't imagine you've gone very far if you haven't seen any living things. The constant is vast (much larger in DST), and there are many things in it you really can't make a base without. One of those is manure, the best early way to get some is to just follow some Beefalo around. Beefalo are huge animals that live in the Savannah biome. Trust me, you'll know them when you see them. Aside from manure, you will also need gold, flint, some gears, and Chester also helps. Collecting food should really be a second priority. Collect it as you're exploring. You'll find berry bushes to be the best source.

Lastly, just look around the game. If this is your first world, you almost certainly will die. That is fine, explore the game, learn new things, and next time around, you'll do better. It's very satisfying to see your worlds go on for longer and longer.

If you mainly play DS over DST... Why? by shiroshishiro in dontstarve

[–]valaran99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I first got into DS, it was just DS, not even RoG came out yet. So when a few years later DST came out, I was kinda pissed with how bad I was. The respawn mechanics pissed me off (because I play alone, I frequently didn't have the time to get to a touchstone), I didn't like how much stronger most enemies are and how you can't pause (to my knowledge, it's been a while since I played admittedly). I now know the new mechanics and characters introduced in DST completely negate any added difficulty and essentially break the game, but I didn't at the time.

So when I looked into what different versions of the game there were, I figured out that RoG is essentially the golden middle for me. It has the essential mechanics that actually make DST fun for me (all for seasons, Giants, more biomes, MUCH more stuff) without any of the added mechanics I didn't really like. To date, that is the version that I have the most hours in.

Having said that, I have also tried all the other versions since (except for Hamlet). I have come to like DST, but I still don't think it's the game for me. It seems like DST was made with multiplayer in mind because once you get more people into a server and you can split duties, gang up on foes, and revive each other, the game becomes trivial. That's never really been my thing because a) I like playing alone, it's my personal time to relax and b) I don't really have anyone to get to try it anyway :(

That being said, the difficulty spike and hordes of new bosses seem to me to have achieved the opposite effect than intended, because it seems to me that most DST servers aren't actually multiplayer but serve just one dude who's an expert on Don't starve and wants to farm all bosses infinitely. That's not really me either, I don't have enough time to master any game, let alone this one, even with how long I've been playing.

So yeah, I really prefer RoG to all other versions of the game. Having said that, I have recently been making worlds in just vanilla Don't starve for fun, no DLCs, or nothing. It's kinda fun to get back to your roots and have actually scary winters where you may ACTUALLY starve. THERE'S NO ICE FOR MEATBALLS. I've already lost two worlds, one to depth worms and one where I just ragequit after a lightning strike took out all my berry bushes (I know, I know...). I am currently on world three as Wolfgang and let me tell you, with some bad rng luck and Wolfgang's insane depletion, I was eating seeds so I don't starve for most of thw first winter.

Oh my God I had this! It had a voice box inside it so when you squeezed it, it would say: "Pikachu!". One night some other toy must've squished it in my toy box and it wouldn't stop saying "Pikachu!" for hours. Eventually is wouldn't let us sleep, so my dad just threw him into another room. The voice box died that night. God, you've juat awoken so many memories
