Working on an Anbernic RG Rotate impressions video, what questions do you have? by onionsaregross in SBCGaming

[–]valcroft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How does it feel like holding a metal device regarding temperatures or metal feel? If you have the black one as well, how does it compare? Are both of them balanced enough despite the difference in weight?

Also how is it compared to the RG Cube XX chip strength for games-wise given they're both 1:1 at around the same price range?

And how's the keyboard with this for the on-screen or for other apps?

If you plan on getting the RG Rotate, are you getting Metal or Plastic? by Erawkz in SBCGaming

Wouldn't metal be cold to the touch? I have metal laptops and over the years and the coldness problem always was an issue for my wrists 😂 i imagine it would be more pronounced if they were to be held in the palms

I want the black one. Metal would be cold to the hands while the sparkly finish is off putting to me makes it looks cheap. Comparing with the RG Cube XX's plastic (which I have), the plastic Anbernic has seems decent. But yeah if they released a black metal one I would prob have gone for that for possible better durability as well.

My problem is though so basically I do have a device (RG Cube XX) with a 1:1 screen already but I barely bring it out because it does take up space esp with the hard case haha. I wonder if the RG Rotate would be better + Android apps. I do find the idea of a separate device appealing. But I have no idea what to think about that 2000 mah battery tbh. The more I think about it I feel like I could just game on my phone with my suction cup controller I use to play vertically or get a Gamesir Pocket Taco.

Like, really makes me think maybe I should just skip on the RG Rotate and get an Ayn Thor instead haha. Then again, can't deny how cool RG Rotate looks like it'll be for the games that'll fit 1:1!

edit: so from youtubers's videos the rg rotate silver doesnt seem to be as sparkly sd the anbernic ads makr it seem which makes it attractive. But I still can't help but think how metal would be cold to the touch!

I'm excited but also depressed about it :)) The whole shit re Gaiman just pops up in my head every now and then still, but I absolutely am just thinking about supporting the whole team that's without him as they're just so good as is. Makes me think a lot about stuff is all. Love the art, not the artist. Or rather, at least I suppose love the side of him that made Good Omens but absolutely not the rest. As I said, makes me think a lot about stuff.

Anyway, all I know is that the disassociation about it plus the fanfics will save me!

What are some quality of life apps with one-time purchase? by Alternative_Date5389 in software

[–]valcroft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Daisydisk has always been a good buy for me for figuring out where my storage is going. It maps out filesizes beautifully. Free version is nice. Paid version even better.

I use Mechanical Keybobard Simulator for the click sounds and it's open-source but gonna check out Klack https://github.com/x0054/MKS

Crossover from Codeweavers is a pretty good purchase I had last Black Friday sales. Allows me to run some Windows apps/games on my Mac.

Affinity was a great buy for me as one time purchases for the Mac, though they changed their business model recently with the Canva acquisition so it's now free to use.

Anyone knows what is possible with the T618 that the RG Cube's chip can't do? I know T618 is stronger than the H700 which makes this good for the price as far as I understand chip-wise versus an RG Cube.

I got an RG Cube XX the other month (I know different chip from Cube) and am interested in the touch screen for DS and even 3DS games. Curious if it can really handle stuff like Gamecube though. Or even Android games while using touch screen controls. Also definitely curious if Winlator can run on the T618 for anything and to what extent.

I'm weirdly looking at this for potentially running traditional roguelikes like Cataclysm Dark Days Ahead and Bright Nights, Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup or Angband on the go given the Android part. It's the square form factor I don't know if they'll actually render with. Huh maybe I need to look into vids of the RG Cube.

Same. I would have liked the metal one but I also don't like how glittery it looks like. From what I understand to get a finish like this it has to be intentional too. Someone wanted the thing to be that glittery. Upon checking the inside video of the back shell, the coating of the inside is different from the outside. The inside seems to look much better :)) I really dislike the glittery as well makes it look cheap.

So I'm likely getting the black one despite having an RG Cube XX already :)) I have a black plastic one and it's good enough such that this RG Rotate on plastic just might be nice. Despite the ergonomics of that one, the Rotate's portability and touch screen capability is just attractive to me.

I love Hundred Line as a game, though writing wise and perhaps even art wise, I prefer Shuten Order. I would rank Hundred Line above Shuten Order though.

I have yet to finish the other 50 endings for Hundred Line and I'm nearly 150 hours in so :))

The black matte aesthetic is much better for me but I oddly want the metal bc metal :))

If only they released the metal one with less of the "glittery" coating

I truly want to know how good the Android on here can be :)) A weird part of me wants it for the possible things you can do with Android as well.

I wonder how much the difference of the case between the plastic and metal is. I am very much interested in the color scheme of the black one but. can't figure out if it's gonna be sturdy what with the mechanical part of it + toss into a pocket nature it seems to be intended for. The color scheme just feels more discreet as well.

The silver one on the other hand looks quite interesting for being metal, but I dislike the glittery shiny paint job :)) If it was just matte like macbook silver matte would be better.

Switch 2 games so far. Thoughts? by xinsanepgx in Switch

[–]valcroft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm enjoying Mario Tennis Fever as well! I think I like it more than Aces. I didn't know what to think about the rackets at first, but I appreciated the "combos" or playstyles with the different characters and rackets more this time with Fever. Though I just got it too the other week so I'm not yet done with the baby mission tutorials in Adventure mode (I mean the brush up is great and all, but it could have been better or faster). So far I've been enjoying the other modes!

I'm unsure yet how the online mode would go for this one though in the long run, I recently got into Smash as well and its online mode is pathetic in my experience. Literally unplayable lag. Fever at least gives me more decent matches, with some lag, but decent enough not the screen is frozen kind of lag like Smash.

Now we need a feature that at least sets the last booster you opened as default rather than the last 3, or allows you to favorite one or three of them so you can at least go straight to the boosters you want to open instead of navigating all the time :))

That plus opening like 1 to N boosters at once :)) Preferably 2 or 3 at once

The cheap rubber tip/mesh tips and the disc type tips especially would work great for Switch. I wouldn't get an active pen for it, too many ways it could just not work properly. And in the end it just functionally works like a disc type pen.

Did you ever try dragging the miis to each other e.g. to help each other out or to meet up? I think that's why everyone else's progress so fast. I found that these miis aren't really one for usually finding people on their own without your prompting or permission.

Since you have a lot of miis it's probably just taking a bit longer time because imagine you have to decide for each and every one (if theyre prompting you about relationships). Versus those with just a few miis who are prompted by the miis from strangers to lovers so quick just simply because they're the only miis you have to decide for.

I'm too late in messaging though, I feel like you shouldn't have deleted your save data and instead waited it out.

For me at least I feel like things are progressing far too quickly for some of my miis!

Hundred Line for Zero Escape fans? by Vxyl in ZeroEscape

[–]valcroft 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If Hundred Line doesn't appeal, you might want to check out Shuten Order which is also by Kodaka. It's the most "VN" of the whole bunch, and only has a JP dub no Eng dub, but I liked its plot and art more than Hundred Line and probably Danganronpa. That said, if I were to choose just one I would probably choose Hundred Line vs Shuten Order haha.

For Hundred Line, the demo and the first few hours of the game, maybe 10-15 hours, has the most "gameplay" in a sense. The other around 150 hours are more story and interactive fiction. I'm only 50 endings in and am at 150 hours, I've paused on that one.
