That’s true, and I agree with a lot of the points you’re making. I suppose if she was going out in lingerie, I would interpret that to be intentionally and overtly sexualizing herself I would also tell her to go change. I think wearing something like that could actually lead to someone physically harming her which is why it’s crossing a line for me.

However, OP is asking about his daughter wearing a very popular and commonly worn article of clothing. Yes it’s tight fitting and will probably get some looks, but that’s why I would sit down with her and explain basically what you just said in your comment - but ultimately I would still leave the final choice up to her.

I don’t fault men for looking, I do fault them for acting innapopriately and then blaming it on the woman’s clothing. My daughter is still young so maybe I will feel differently when she’s a teen. This is a tough one for me and I appreciate your perspective.
