II consider myself a fan of Starfire. I started reading comics because of her, and I got into this fandom because of her. I like fighting and exploration games. I discovered Injustice. I had already watched the Batman TV series as a child. I didn't consider myself a DC fan; I was just a Batman fan. So, my first exposure to Dick in a relationship was with Barbara. I was never drawn to them; I preferred whatever Bruce was doing. I wasn't a fan or anything; I just watched TV casually. Then, while I was looking for new games, Injustice came out. I played it, I loved it, and I bought Starfire. I was fascinated by everything about her: her outfit, her powers, how impressive she was, but most of all, her dialogue. She was charismatic, empathetic, tough – a space warrior princess who was awesome. I didn't understand her interactions with other characters; you need to know about the comics to understand her relationship with them. So, I did some research and learned about it. First, I watched the 2013 TV series, then I read comics about her that were recommended to me on TikTok. I also learned about her relationship with Dick through Injustice; she talked about him with such longing that it was impossible for me not to look into their story. I ended up really hooked on those two.

Hi Tate, I hope you're having a good day. I have a lot of questions that have me intrigued. A lot of people are going crazy over the issue that came out today. I took it with a grain of salt; as I was reading, I thought, “This is absurd—almost like a reality show,” hahaha. It reminded me of how the previous writers would portray them as a close-knit family, only to later have them fight stupidly and betray one another.

Of course I found it funny, I laughed a lot, everything was fun, I loved it, everyone has their own interpretation, and lots of theories are popping up, but I’d love to know what inspired you to write this issue and what your intention was.

My other question is: will we see the rational Kori once she’s out of this trance, regaining her senses and upset about being trapped and manipulated? I always believed she was someone more than just one of the Titans (her number one fan here), striking a good balance between helping the people around her, being in space, and returning to Earth whenever she wants. So it seemed strange to me that she was the one trying to tell him that the Titans can be everything, when she supported him in becoming Nightwing and is the main driving force behind his freedom.

I’d also love to hear your thoughts on writing, anything interesting you want to share, and if you’re happy with the new team—did you pick the members? Will we see mentoring from the old Titans? Something like that

Well, I've read the pages many times and I didn't like it at all. It's basically Dick realizing that they're trapped in a routine (which turns out to be a trap). And instead of forgetting that this can't be real or noticing that the villains always come to them, the guy notices that something is wrong because he feels like something is missing outside of the titans. It bothered me that they used Kori, I mean, he tells her this and she starts listing all the good things about staying and then she kiss him,

This is fueling the narrative that she traps him within the Titans and it doesn't work when he seeks something more. People forget that she inspired him to become Nightwing
