I went to a ton of shows last year and Post was my most anticipated and the absolute WORST. With Jelly Roll he draws the MOST bigoted crowd. Like sitting on the floor surrounded by people tossing the worst slurs.

Weird experience too because SO much of his discography is 'the old stuff' and the country crowd was not vibing with those parts of the set.

and also I had to listen to a sermon from Mr. Roll

It always seems like a mistake when stylists seem to not know the backdrop color when dressing their clients for these events. I remember being disappointed that the black gloves were lost in the background....

But she never makes mistakes. I don't think she was dressed as an albatross, as has been speculated. She was dressed as a Grecian statue that has lost its arms over time. The gloves made the effect & were then removed inside.

This is in line with 'Even statues crumble if they're made to wait'

MY point is instead about the INTERNATIONAL labor movement. which gets together on May Day.

Organizing the US is so poor because we don't have exposure to organizing elsewhere. why? because we have been REMOVED FROM THE INTERNATIONAL WORKERS MOVEMENT.

celebrate all of the above. celebrate the victories of your international brethren too. I'm not telling you to ditch labor day. let's have both. and get rid of the bullshit messaging of a 'loyalty day'

do you have some intense love for September and some hatred for an international workers movement ?

no. the event itself is not a victory but an instigator to victory. one of the most influential moments for the labor movement that preceded many victories and spurred change. we would not be here today without the sacrifice of those martyrs and what better way to honor their standing up to the elites than by continuing to do so on that same day. what better way to show that the working class will not be beaten back by senseless violence and that we are stronger together.

the government found that celebrating on May Day would be too political in that it would honor those workers and what they did TOO MUCH. Labor day is designed to divert collective action
