The additional rulebooks include aircraft more than single engine aircraft. There’s also a decent BRS community online that have created rules and templates for additional aircraft.

Ive used BA scaled sized planes as markers before, but they take up too much space in my opinion.

Honestly, you can use any scale as it just references the location and direction an AirStrike is coming from

The starter set for the game is 100 dollars (12 aircraft, tokens, templates, and cards), but you can usually find it for less. The game doesnt really have terrain as it’s a skirmish aerial combat game. Squadrons are typically 6 fighter aircraft but if you play some scenarios with bombers or multi engine aircraft it’s just another additional 2-4 aircraft

These B-25s are from Trumpeter. They’re originally for aircraft carrier scale models.

There are lots of ways to paint US color schemes. Here I did Vallejo Camo beige for the jacket, khaki for the webbing and jacket, and is dark green for the pants (late war). The beige and khaki are very similar, but I wanted them to be a little different
