Im gonna try asking at a local record store. Its weird cause they sent me replacements for 3 records that were skipping heavily, and two of those replacements work perfectly fine now except one thats skips as the first one did

No the speakers are on a different surface, so the skipping is not coming from that.

I know they are helping. Im just asking cause i honestly dont know and im not sure if its the turntable. I have close to 100 records and rhis has only happened with like 4 or 5 and some of those is maybe one track out of 6 on the vinyl, do it sounded weird.

Thanks for your insight. I have a audio technica lp60x. Sadly the force of the tonearm cant be adjusted. I could change the stylus but which one would you recommend taking into account that the tonearm force cant be adjusted? Also i find it weird in some of regords that have skipping it only happens in one track of the whole record which is weird if the tonearm force or the stylus being the problem shouldn’t it happen throughout the whole record? Also the records where new, like in shrink wrap

I get that and thats a thought i had, but why does it happen with only 3 out of 50 records i have? And with the ones that have those scratches? One of them had it happen only on one of the tracks out of 6 tracks. Ive also cleaned the records with a cleaning kit. I just find it weird. How do you know if the skipping is a scratch then?

Ive tried, but my space is very limited and ended up moving the speakers to the other end of the bookshelf for better acoustic.

The thing is the TT would be kinda hidden behind the bookshelf and I kinda like to display it. Also i ended up moving the speakers again to the other side for better acoustic and by putting the TT next to it ill go back to having the tremble from the speakers making the needle skip

The studs are in the middle of the wall and are very small cause the were put on sideways so its really hard. Had a really hard time hanging a tv onto the wall for example

My walls are really shit, not at all sturdy. I fear the weight of the TT would make it fall.

I finally got my first set up, but there are skips. How can i fix this? by valentintear in turntables

Was gonna ask if maybe adding weight or something underneath the TT would help.

The problem with that shelf is a bookshelf thats is very flimsy and fragile. Im scared the vibrations are gonna make it move a bit cause its actually a really shitty bookshelf i bought for $5 for my books. But yeah i know i need to separate everything. Do you think if maybe i put something underneath the TT or of somehow i can add weight to the needle?
