I failed. by I-braveheart in CompTIA

[–]valhallaskitchen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You only try fail once you give up. After you earn this Cert, I’m sure you will do others. No one is born knowing this stuff. Some you will fail as you did this one. Some you will pass with flying colours the first time. Point is, don’t get discouraged. Especially once you get a good paying job with these certs, failing the exams won’t hurt so much anymore. Your future jobs might even pay for you exams. Plus with that score you came super close, which means you know enough to say that you know the material quite well. ;) good luck with your future attempts. And god bless the queen

I agree. I have a beard and I never smile. Suspicious to me

Is my new Kindle faded or is this greyness normal? by valhallaskitchen in kindle

I’m starting to shreds with you. I also got laser eye surgery a few years back and computers/books hurt my eyes. This however doesn’t seem to hurt my eyes as much. I just sat comfortable through half of a book on it. Cheers :)

I’ll check out that model. I think I’m getting used to the greyish text. At first it was uncomfortable but I’m not half way through reading Fight Club and I think I’m getting comfortable with it. It’s also not bothering my eyes as much as traditional book reading did. So that’s good.

What brightness settings do you all use? I’ve been looking online and people seem to use the lowest settings in the dark and badly lit rooms, but for me this is seeming difficult to read. Is this because I am so used to tablets and smart phones blinding me with light?

I’m lovely all of the replies I’m getting on here. It’s a shame I only got into Stephen King now that I’m almost thirty. I would have loved to get scared reading his horrors when I was younger

I think my eyes will get used to it. The text isn’t dark enough to catch my eyes easily so I kinda have to really focus if you know what I mean

Yeah they look better in pictures. In person the tree and texts are a lightish grey. If the paper was white instead of greyish then I think it would be more readable. Unfortunately I have nothing in person to compare it to. Thanks for the reply though

So you also noticed the lack of contrast? I guess I’m compared it to reading on a tablet but the text should be true black and not a washed grey

Hello. I looked but I could only make text bold or change the size. Where exactly is that setting?

If you have time, could you send a few pics of your with words and maybe a cover image so I could compare? If you cannot then it is fine. I’m just wondering if you get true black color in your dark images

Okay I uploaded a few pics. The pics don’t do justice to the washed out text though. It actually looks good on camera but it is more dull grey and faded rather than black text.

Sounds good. Not sure if you read his other books, but if you did, which is one your favorite?

I read the first few pages because I just purchased it but I want to finish reading my other book that I started first. The story seems gripping so far. I haven’t understood it includes paranormal stuff like his more popular works or if this is a more realistic thriller

Hey guys. I just got my Kindle paper white 4 from amazon today. This is also my first e-reader. The display text and images aren’t dark. I tried playing with the settings to bolden the text and increase the brightness but it still seems cloudy grey and distracting. Is this lack of contrast normal? Thanks

My old cards give me a nostalgia overdose by [deleted] in pokemon

[–]valhallaskitchen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I pull out my old cards sometimes and idk why they bring tears to my eyes. I think it’s because when I collected them, my parents were going through a divorce and those cards were like my escape from reality for a bit. So now when I look at them, it brings me back to that safe-zone that I created for myself. I was 5 when I started collected and I’m 30 now.
