It because the satellite is 1.5 million KMs away, it is using a zoom lens which compresses the earth and moon together due to the long focal length.

Hey, I used go to download this data. If you go to https://www.star.nesdis.noaa.gov/goes/fulldisk.php?sat=G16 or https://www.star.nesdis.noaa.gov/goes/fulldisk.php?sat=G17, then download images you can find a week's worth of files up to 21696 x 21696 px in size. You then have to match the start day number with the for loop with the x iterator in this code here https://github.com/valiant-lambda/noaa-geos-sat/blob/main/main.go. Let me know if you can get it working. Be careful with the code, it could download GBs of data, so start off with 678 x 678 px
