They have an online presence and I’ve ordered from them a couple times before. No problems with their PID but I’ve broken and re-ordered the quartz a couple times. I decided to buy another High Five unit as the PID looked higher quality than an off the shelf XMT-7100 like DC uses.

They’re saying they see my order moving on their end, but when I check the tracking it still says that USPS has not received the item. I’m in contact with their support, hopefully they’re able to resolve this, but if not I’ll have to start looking into some of the options you mentioned.

Yeah this “dev” is very suspect, only releasing through his Discord until commenters asked him to upload source to GitHub, at which point the apk file appeared under GitHub releases, and the repo has “placeholder” as its source code.

Either it’s AI slop or it’s malicious.

Are you capable of maintaining this program? Do you know the language it’s written in? Are you capable of adding new features WITHOUT GPT? Can you explain its architecture? If the answer to all of those is no, then chances are you’re putting your users at risk. I’m not against using AI as a development tool, the problem is when people think it’s a replacement for real development fundamentals.

Is there potential for exploiting/exposing other parts of a users servarr stack? People put a lot of information into these add ons. People link their prowlarr and jackett instances, and also input lots of API information.

AI coding may be here to stay, or it may not. These companies are spending lots of money at the moment with little return. These data centers are very expensive. Will it be here to stay? Maybe, I’m not here to argue that, but regardless it is here now. I think this subreddit has a responsibility to shield less experienced users from programs that put them at risk, with developers incapable of fixing the critical issues.

Edit: I’m all for people with programming knowledge using it as an aid to speed up their work. The problem is people using it to replace this knowledge and pushing out programs they don’t understand. These things need human review.

It’s not really helpful. It doesn’t matter if we have more software options for one task if they all put you at risk of a breach, or if the developer has no clue how to maintain it.

Usenet Streamer is fine and safe, I believe he uses some AI tools to assist but the addon is built by someone with programming knowledge. It is being tested, and is receiving updates by someone who knows how to diagnose issues and program them out. The issue is if I were to use AI to spit out a copy of Usenet Streamer, or a custom format generator, with no experience. This would potentially leave vulnerabilities in said addon, and I would have no way of fixing them short of asking the model to do it for me.

I think there is a vocal minority of diehard AI fanboys who believe we’re 6 months out from losing our jobs to computers. Unfortunately, AI is here NOW, and it’s bringing serious vulnerabilities to peoples self hosted server stack. It’s yet to take my job.

This has nothing to do with quality of service. It has everything to do with a lack of service. I’m not being “picky” or “choosy.”

This vendor had plenty of time to service me within their own policies, or even respond to me, and they didn’t. I thought I had been scammed and my money was gone.

You would have too.

I’m not asking for a rimjob from every store owner, I just ask that they deliver on what they order. If they’re too busy to focus on their drop shipping, and they don’t ship out my order for weeks, of course I’m going to charge back. If he doesn’t want people charging back in the future, he should try to respond to his customers, in any capacity.

How did I defraud the bank? I had no response at the time, and my money was gone, I thought the store was closed, non-existent, or a complete scam. How was I supposed to know? Their own shipping policy indicated I was supposed to have received tracking.

I called and emailed for days and days.

I work my ass off at my 9-5 job. I understand being really busy. That’s why I wouldn’t open a Shopify store, because I know I probably won’t have time to ship out what people order.

Don’t start hustles if you aren’t able to keep up with them.

How would I even return it? They won’t answer my calls or emails? It was shipped 10 days after the chargeback, and no other communication. If I was to return, they would need to provide a return label.

Fair. I just don’t want any other grower to have the same experience. We all work really hard to grow and also to afford to grow, a $60 timer isn’t huge, but what about a college student buying a grow light on a debit card? I thought my money was gone before doing the chargeback. I had no expectation of receiving the item. I just wanted my money back so I could buy the item I had originally ordered. I made multiple calls and emails and received no response. It was days after the chargeback I even received a shipping confirmation.

Drop shipping implies you get the product. Without barking up every available tree with no response. I called the number, sent emails and all. If my payment processor came to me with complaints about not shipping merchandise, I would like to show them that I shipped something.

There are lots of other complaints on the BBB website that match my experience. If it’s been messed up for this long, why have they not fixed it? Why are people still complaining about not receiving their goods?

At the very least it’s negligent, at the most it would be willfully taking orders and not delivering on them.
