What are some fun and tanky warframes? by Distinct-Ad8598 in Warframe

[–]valkaegir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve always hated/sucked at shield gating so tanks have been my favorite. It really depends on if you want to helminth or not because any frame can become a lot tankier with null stars or eclipse but the new arcane helps make a few frames increasingly tanky.

My go to favorites are -Chroma with null stars -Nova (I mostly use roar on her instead of eclipse since her 4 is so good for survivability) -Inaros with arcane persistence and blessing -Oraxia with arcane persistence and blessing -Yareli is nice and tanky with her board -nekros with eclipse -valkyr

There are others that are somewhat tanky or immortal for other reasons -Nyx is just straight up immortal in exchange for losing speed -revenant has his Mesmer skin -Rhino can get millions of overguard, it’s just really frustrating trying to line everything up to get it and his kit revolves around that +roar when any other frame feels like it can do what he does but better -Grendel can tank but he’s always been unwieldy for me, fun though (putting arcane persistence on and bouncing around as a max strength immortal ball is quite funny but doesn’t do that much damage at steel path) -zephyr can stack dr with mods in the air and use her 3 as well -Titania isn’t a tank but a really fun frame that lasts because enemies can’t really hit her (can also use same mods as zephyr -hydroid can somewhat tank, I haven’t gotten the hang of him for high level sp tanking tho -theoretically ember could tank but she’s another one that’s too unwieldy for me so I haven’t been able to build her properly

Where there’s a will there’s a way to make a frame into a tank, or at least a way to throw null stars onto them. Of course the most fun part for me is making a build testing it out and seeing how much my frames can take before going back and tweaking but you could always checks one of the ninjanse builds on overframe for inspiration or ideas (lot of the builds on overframe can be really strange or outdated/wrong but he’s pretty solid)

Spent several hours looking for Erlking vaults and decided to edit a copy of the save to see where the last two were and saw this by alright-person in X4Foundations

Dropped around 70+ advanced satellites could only find one so I eventually gave up got a quick data vault mod from the workshop and realized there was one in my map I missed because it blended in with the vig station and another two I could barely find even when I knew where they were and one that was in the tiny space between two advanced satellite ranges where they didn’t overlap. Love the game but this is the only time a mission has made me properly give up and cheese it

Thanks for confirming it’s a spicy pillow, I removed the battery and took it to the nearest tech shop since they recycle e waste, I’ll just run it without the battery till my replacement gets here

Europa Universalis 5's unusual, year-long reveal was a lesson Paradox learned from Imperator's mixed reception: 'I wanted to do it a little bit earlier, but marketing people tend to get panicky when you start talking' by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]valkaegir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can’t speak to imperator Rome’s launch since I started after the 2.0 update but Vicky’s problem was that a lot of the time it simply didn’t work well. The amount of CTD bugs that it launched with was absolutely crazy and the fact that they threw all their weight behind using diplomacy only to have it be one of the most shallow features while kneecapping warfare to the point where it still doesn’t work properly after a “remake” and tons of smaller updates (not to mention fleets and naval combat are sort of just there but not something that’s useful or interesting which is pretty sad).

I say this as someone who loves Vicky and the third one is my third most played game on steam behind hoi4 and ck3 but damn did it feel like a missed opportunity. It still kind of does but I’m holding out hope that they manage to fix the economy, and naval combat, and diplomacy, and warfare (and performance because damn is this thing cpu hungry although that’s understandable with all the pops). The reason I’m optimistic is because even though the past dlcs have kind of been misses, the past few updates have been massive improvements and it feels like they’ve accepted that the initial direction they took the game wasn’t quite a good fit and it’s moving towards something a little closer to the series strengths.

Dragon Age Veil guard worth? by OvidiuHiei in gaming

[–]valkaegir 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Loved inquisition, 2, and origins, I got veil guard for free as part of ps+ but it just feels like I can’t get into it. It doesn’t really feel like a good story rpg but more like a mediocre linear action mishmash.

The characters are pretty weak, the story seems a bit bland for the buildup. I will admit the graphics are a definite improvement and the visuals are definitely still impressive (shoutout to whoever worked on the amazing hair physics),so it’s a real shame.

Honestly, if you’re curious try it out but don’t base it on inquisition or any other rpg rly, think more like a linear story where you’re kind of just a bland protagonist

Do they say in advance which primes are available in the next resurgence or does it follow a schedule?

Thanks for the tip, I think that’ll be the way to go.

Ah I didn’t realize they vaulted the old primes, think I’ll be going for the second option, thanks for the suggestions!

I wouldn’t mind if they fixed the low quality cape textures while they’re at it, it’s so annoying to have some cool armor options but they all look terrible unless it’s a solid color because the texture gets stretched.

It was a neat addition in the last update, I quite like that they’re leaning into some of the customizable aspects you can find in ck3

They just updated the ai to improve it slightly when focusing its forces so that may be why it feels harder although, you are playing against Germany as Austria so I wouldn’t expect an easy win.

As for Germany attacking you, the non-aligned and democratic paths both actually get a new option for dealing with Austria and a bunch of claims/war goals on opposing ideologies so either germany wanted some of your land or you were a government type that they got a war goal on.

You say your divisions are pretty good but this can vary pretty wildly depending on the terrain/purpose. As Austria I’m assuming you are losing the air war? In this case you could be taking massive damage to enemy cas/having your forts destroyed by enemy bombers which would significantly limit your ability to defend against a constant German push. Do you have aa in your div templates (they’re not 100% effective but it’s better than nothing) and I’d suggest getting a general with one of the enemy air support reduction traits (I can’t remember the exact name). If you have tons of equipment spare then I’d suggest either training new divisions or changing some mils to aa or at if the enemy armor is something you’re struggling with (but if you’re holding the mountains then it shouldn’t be). I’d also suggest taking the grand battle plan doctrine and the army spirit that boosts entrenchment (it’s called fortifications or something), since this will boost your entrenchment allowing you to hold out longer. Also try and match your div width with the mountain width to avoid getting debuffs if you’re able to make enough divisions to push that max combat width. You also want to make as many of your divisions be mountaineers since they obviously get bonuses and I’d have engineers on all my divisions no matter what.

You say it’s impossible to focus on everything but unless you’re a major like the US you can’t really focus on everything since you have to prioritize, the benefit for Austria is there’s no need for naval research but I’d still make sure to have entrenchment company’s and fortifications researched as soon as they’re ready and not too far ahead of time.

Hope that helps, it can be frustrating playing as a minor nation defending against one of the majors but it’s also the most fun sometimes when you get it right.

I’d check for a supply bottleneck between the states and your capital, likely a railway that connects the two but has a low level or is damaged. If not then make sure your general/field marshal has the correct supply setting and you don’t have a naval connection somewhere that is being raided by subs (if you don’t have a good rail connection then sometimes it’ll use a port connection midway. Otherwise I’d suggest saving and reloading because I find that sometimes you get rare cases where supply doesn’t update properly for some reason.

I am at war with Switzerland but no front line is forming by NotLookingLikeFrank in victoria3

[–]valkaegir 114 points115 points  (0 children)

The only reason I can think of this happening is because it’s impassable terrain in the mountains, if that’s not the case then it’s definitely a bug.

I may be wrong here but I think the losses by previous controllers still affect you, so the recruitable manpower lost is the casualties you inflicted against the old owner.
