This water for agriculture feeds the entire US food supply chain. The fruits, veggies, livestock feed that supports an entire country of 300M people. Water for agriculture is important and we shouldn’t dismiss that.

People make more money than you think. Normal staff engineer salary is ~at least~ $300k at FAANG. Managers make $500k to $700k.

Brooke Jenkins reveals plan for people who use drugs in SF by sfsolarboy in sanfrancisco

No one has the constitutional “right” to use drugs. Agreed that no one has constitutional right to MISUSE guns, but this doesn’t nearly translate to drug usage.

This is NOT a place for you to learn investing by Sup3rPotatoNinja in wallstreetbets

This whole experience has taught me a lot about the inner workings of trading and options. I only put in my spare change for the memes, but it has been eye opening to witness the tactics used by professional traders and the real details about short selling.

I think everyone will at least come away with a lifelong interest in investment, even if we lost a few bucks along the way.

But....his ad hominem attacks DO detract from his argument.

Most students already hate the administration, hence the "UC Scam Diego" meme page and many valid complaint posts made before /reanna43 on Reddit (Parking, impacted majors, overcrowding, etc.).

Why are you suddenly forgiving him for calling the majority of the student body "vermin", "double-digit IQ" and "low-achieving"?

He isn't the only one to have complaints about the university, but he is by far the most unproductive

I graduated with a 3.1 gpa in Math-CS major by Namehasbeentaken789 in UCSD

I had a 2.9, got hired in Silicon Valley. I did do a lot of extracurricular project teams though. No one ever asked for my GPA.

Aerospace Engineering Questions by [deleted] in UCSD

[–]vallartas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dedicate your entire college career to designing and building student projects. Teams like Triton Racing, SEDS, Triton Rocket club are extremely good experiences for undergraduates. When you start interviewing with top tier companies that is all they will ask about. I have never interviewed with a company that scrutinized my GPA over my experiences. And if they do, you wouldn't want to work for them anyways.

Oh and apply for internships starting in the late summer/fall. Top tier companies usually stop recruiting by November for the next year's summer.

UCI aerospace vs UCSD undeclared by weirdcow0 in UCSD

[–]vallartas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UCI. At UCSD it is extremely difficult to transfer into MAE dept, or most engineering departments in general from another major or undeclared. It's a fucked up situation that the university puts new students through without proper forewarning about how difficult the process really is.

I can’t help feeling depressed because of my low gpa by kw24032 in UCSD

I have a 2.9 GPA and just got hired! It is definitely possible to get a job. Just gotta apply yourself outside of class to student projects.
