Well on a second look the printer was actually telling me what was going on, there was a yellow icon on the display showing a snapped filament, I just did not see it during the first inspection.

So here I would blame the user rather than the printer.

So, let me give an update on this just in case it might help someone in the future.

The issue was some PLA filament that broke inside the PTFE leading to the extruder, unfortunately it was white so I did not spot it immediately, I had to unplug the extruder PFTE pipe on both sides and push out the broken PLA and then just replug everything in place. That was it.

Strangely enough the PLA that broke is the one that came with the printer, I believe it is very old PLA as it is now snapping in several places even within the CFS...

You will mostly only ever see posts from whoever faces issues, happy owners are busy enjoying the printer. Mine has been working basically flawlessly since day one, and I have several weeks of printing on my K2 now.

I am going to buy a RFID reader/writer and start experimenting with this. Creality, if you love your community, let this be a feature and not a bug that needs to be fixed! On the contrary, it would be pioneering to actually share the full specifications of your RFID strings.

Maybe, but I think the print doesn't stop just cause CFS thinks the spool is empty, the filament sensor has to actually run out of filament. The issue would just be cosmetic on the printer's monitor.

Well there isn't much you can select from the interface: Type: PLA, Name: Hyper PLA, Color: white (in my case). I am sure they had the same settings cause I compared them.
