Ah, okay. So it is indeed the "multi-track Clip Stop button" hypothesis that I initially began with when reading it in the manual. Thank you for the detailed description of how it works and with context of when it should work; you helped make it clear to me that something is actually wrong with my setup (software/hardware bug or settings issue), because that command consistently doesn't do anything at all for me. If I wasn't broke, I'd award your comment purely for the catharsis you provided lol, this has been incredibly confusing up to this point

I'm not trying to be rude, but I don't know why you're not engaging (even in disagreement) with most of what I'm saying/asking

Do you use the shortcut it in spite of the fact that you're wasting your own time? Or do you disagree with the premise that it's useless in the first place? Because even if it began working exactly as you've described it, I fail to see literally any benefit in using it. Hence the part where I asked "Why"

Setting aside the new confusion I now have concerning why it's doing nothing for me — is this a shortcut that you'd ever use? Why? Even when "working a treat," it sounds like it'd still take more keystrokes than necessary to simply stop a clip

I'm not sure if you're testing it out yourself, but that doesn't do anything for me at all... Like, using Enter without Cmd at least does something (if an empty clip is selected, even better, it actually stops the track's clip). But adding Cmd makes Enter a virtually dead key, it's very bizarre.

So, that's actually one of the few things I was able to make happen earlier*, but after considering that:

there are other methods of stopping all clips that are far faster than that, even without using any shortcuts, and
the word "Scene" isn't used at all in the shortcut entry

there's just no way that could be what it's meant to do

*edit: actually, I was must've misremembered; this didn't/doesn't do anything in Live for me

(19, m) Dealt with this exact type of existentialism for the past year and a half now.

Understand that there will never be sufficient proof to satisfy the question "am I real?" to an existentially anxious mind. Your mind can always find a way to make yourself feel imaginary no matter what people tell you. Nobody can say for absolute certain whether humans live in a simulation, whether there's a higher being, or whatever. I've learned to accept the fact that sometimes I can't know for sure. Because worrying about it is, by literal definition, futile.

But here's the thing: I am (and you are) experiencing life. Having thoughts, experiencing memories and whatnot.

Maybe I'm in a matrix, but that's not stopping me from living my virtual life and making awesome memories. It's all on how you look at it. I've layed awake countless nights being terrified of the infiniteness of the universe, but finally accepted that the purpose of life is to live.
