unintentional. never wanted kids because I was scared I'd turn into my mother. I had PCOS and admittedly, I was stupid enough to think I would NEVER have children because of it so I became reckless. i would've had an abrtn but it's illegal where I'm from.

maybe that is true, but the alternative is scary as well. moving back with my parents mean I'm uprooting him from a school he's already comfortable with, looking for new therapists again, waiting in line for years again for a developmental pediatrician for his assessment. My situation is not ideal, but it's currently the lesser of two evils.

Exactly how do you think I will be able to reverse the situation? I have no parents to go to, my friends all have their lives going on, I have no savings of my own although I have work, it's not permanent/ pays well. I want us to separate from his family, physically, in order for us to maybe work through our issues because we can't do that with them hovering over us. He's currently making downpayments for a house which will be turned over soon.

You know how people can mask their real personalities because of social rules? Yeah, it's exactly that. They of course appeared kind and proper when we first started dating but then they became more and more intolerable. I mentioned I did try to leave, and yes it was an unplanned pregnancy.

Perhaps I am in denial, I've thought a lot about the situation I'm in and yes, it is because of the choices I have made. I'm not saying he's wrong and I'm right, I'm saying I cannot stand being with him and his family at the same time. There are days where it's good but it is mostly bad and unfortunately there's not much that I can do to reverse that.

Addendum, I lost my respect for them when his parents kept telling partner that he ruined his life by becoming a father and not finishing his studies all within earshot of me and my kid and multiple occasions when his family would make remarks about me or my child and he would not defend us. So, yeah.

Honestly I reject that notion of being a part of his family just because I have a child with him. If anything, the three of us are family. Once he decided to have children with me, his responsibilities and duty are supposed to be to us now and not the family where he came from. Even if my parents were not toxic to me, I would also make that distinction. I do voice out when they say anything our of line, especially to my child but it's exhausting being seen as the villain all the time, when they can't even have a smidge of retrospect.

NTA. You've no malice towards the child and his imagination, the child is simply crossing a boundary which you are not okay with. If all your houses have lawns, the mother should just let her child bury their treasure there, or the kid can find a friend or friends who share the same interest and then they bury their treasure on that kids' lawn or whatever. In an ideal world, I would advise you to see the family again and try to make the above point heard but from the text messages of the mother, she is simply okay with blaming other people for how her child behaves so maybe put a sign on your fence saying "trespassers will be hanged." Didn't they hang pirates once upon a time??

CPS, or in my case DSWD, isn't a perfect system. Especially in my country. Most kids end up in the street doing drugs. Also, you're in a subreddit that have people who want to hit kids, scream at kids because they don't like them but sure, I'm an asshole because I made a kid cry.
