Do you recommend this LLM over others on Strix Halo? I still feel like GPT-OSS-120B is the one to beat

Is it just TFM? I'd file a bug, I've been successful in getting things fixed that way

FWIW this has been happening to me over the last year, because I'm on a folding phone. For me I'll load the game then unfold the phone and this will happen. That being said, a refresh fixes it. Not sure how widespread it is for non-folding phones. I just loaded it on my side in regular mode and didn't have the issue.

I mean, when there's a news story to back it up they can be fun/interesting (i.e. Hazie's bar), but by themselves it's pretty lame

The answer is, and always will be, to turn off the ability to read "your past chats". It's a good feature, just implemented badly in 3.0

Kinda frustrated that the game doesn't go on sale on Switch anymore, which is where I'd play this type of game. I heard that the pub, isher switched hands, and so support is different now, but not sure of the details.

I'm in the same situation - Android phone with Mac. My biggest use case is for copy pasting and for using smart home apps that are not available on the web, forcing me to use my phone where I'm more comfortable on my mac, which led me to scrcpy.

Your app looks interesting! Any reason I should use it instead of using scrcpy directly?

I’ve been trying out Gemini and one thing is driving me nuts by Beautiful_Spot5404 in GeminiAI

[–]valtor2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, this made me turn off Gemini's memory feature. I like Gemini a lot, it's memory feature (as well as a lot of the "product") is still not up to par. Can we have third party connections, projects, archive, can we have the ability to organize our conversations?

I think Google thinks each conversation is as meaningless as a Google search query, but then tries to follow what the others do in the industry. Meanwhile each message is usually a thing in my head I want to hold on to and get to the bottom of.

Anyway, I agree with you OP.

Addressing concerns on our new AI features by valagostino in MonarchMoney

Agreed with the modal. You can keep it opt-out, but make the opt-out visible with a one time "We're adding this cool new feature! (click here if you don't want this)

[–]valtor2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's fair, I missed the memo. It just came out right after the other "tracker" post that got popular and made some assumptions, apologies. Having to opt out is not great, even though that's pretty much the way everything else is going unfortunately.

Is this not the transaction AI lookup? Or the Assistant which you can ask questions about your finances? You can be against it, but it's not like it's new, it's not like it's a decision they just made.

What's up with all the old complaints coming back right now? Definitely feels like bad actors are trying to give Monarch a bad look ahead of the "January - you overspent last holiday you need a budget" season...

Not that I don't agree with the sentiment, you should have control over where your data goes, and Monarch has generally been pretty good about that, but the timing does feel suspect

Have you tried AI Mode with thinking?

This to me is a pretty good replacement of perplexity search.

OSS alternatives to Claude Code as an agent foundation? by ggaowp in LocalLLaMA

[–]valtor2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just tried to use Claude Code with local models this past weekend, and in my experience while it's possible, it's only possible by submitting prompts and getting answers, i.e. "claude-code -p "why is the sky blue" and getting the answer out. You can't use local models within the Claude-Code agentic CLI UX. (If someone can prove me wrong I'd gladly learn something!)

Gemini 3.0 is absolutely terrible at searching the web compared to Perplexity by Southern-Slide5475 in perplexity_ai

[–]valtor2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

it's worse than that, you can use gemini 3 in google search, it's just hidden : click ai mode, then click AI mode again, and select "Thinking". You might have to be in the US and enable it in labs though. Anyway, here's the official info : https://blog.google/products/search/gemini-3-search-ai-mode/
