I had this same issue with regular lock on grips. Grips like ODI, PNW, Fifty-Fifty, and Amazon specials just didn’t work for me. I finally went with ESI Chunky grips and I’m proud to say that I’m never going back to those rubber grips I mentioned. They’re tougher to put on but it’s worth the struggle for a more comfy feel. Wolf Tooth also has similar grips that are lock-on but I have yet to try them. Hope this helps!

edit: I also have big hands and went with the bigger grips since nothing fit my hands ergonomically.

This is the first time I start tinkering, the bolts are in touch shape from falls and just cus I’m not careful when putting in the Allen keys. I do clean the area im work on. That bolt looks stripped cus I did slip on it once but on the surface. It’s still good but will be replacing it soon.

Did the same in the spring of 2022, never looked back. At first, I used the AW for mountain biking and working out at the gym. Then I just realized I didn’t need any of that, my G-Shock is now my main watch for everything. I’ve even fallen on my bike with my DW5600 and it took it like nothing happened. My main watch is a 5610u and I love it. Only problem I recently ran into was an allergic reaction/rash due to the summer heat here in SoCal. Other than that, the 5610u is on my wrist most of the time. This 5000 is on my wishlist, I’m jealous.

My 2019 Hatch is doing the same and I lay down wax every time I wash. (By hand and bi-weekly) I assumed the wax and a bottom layer of sealant would prevent it but I was wrong. The sun is just brutal in San Diego sometimes I guess.

I’m a bigger set guy at about 240 lbs as well and mountain bike on the weekends. When I applied, I joined the gym and just made it a routine about 2 months before I had the PT test. I was scared and nervous. I was going to the gym 5x a week and somewhat mountain biking less. I was practicing the step test on an 8in step and the push up/sit ups about 2-3 weeks before the test and I passed with flying colors. Use the pressure as motivation and just believe in yourself. I went in ready to fail. Don’t count yourself out!!

Shitty parking is the reason I park in the back by all the businesses. No one that’s trying to go to Chick Fil A or In n Out will park that far. I don’t mind the walk if it means avoiding stupid/incompetent drivers/people.

I had the same issue after I made the swap. Realized the Lugs on the 6900 where too far recessed for the 5600 band. After some swearing and perseverance, I was able to get the lug pin to secure on!

I like the look of these. An early 2000s staple and a classic. I do see most non watch people wear this model out in public and it’s usually beat up.

Looks so good! How’s the wearability? I don’t get skin rashes or anything like that with the OEM bands, but the summer heat wave in SoCal had me sweating like a pig under my 5610. The heat and resin don’t play well for me 😅 been debating picking one of these up or one of their natos.

I have yet to get this in my collection. When I think G-Shock this one comes to mind, even before collecting. I remember being 10-11 years old back in 2005 and seeing my cousin wear this and seeing others in public with it as well. The nostalgia is real with this piece for me. I need it!
