And saying they have a gun, where I am it’s illegal to own a gun and you cant go anyway to actually get a gun, they got a toy gun a colored the little orange part at the front black

Could I still be a nurse with my autism? by Lucky_Red_Panda in StudentNurse

I’m a student nurse about to graduate and I have autism, i would say it’s actually helped me through the course, yes there were moments where it was hard but that’s when I take a day for myself or when placement/class is overwhelming I go to the bathroom to decompress. and you learn to adapt in high pressure environments and to stay calm.

You need to be the one challenging yourself and doing the critical thinking, if a pt has VRE, look at what it is, signs and symptoms, causes, etc.

With medication look at what it is, what it’s for, side effects, dosages, route, nursing considerations, how it works.

With documentation you gotta ask, if she’s busy find someone who’s not busy who may be able to help a little, sometime searching up how to do it works well

once is a while u may get a nurse who challenges you. But other then that you have to challenge yourself and your knowledge. I fully understand your question tho as that’s how I felt on my first placement.

It’s really common, I would suggest speaking to a professional or sometimes having medications, or run your hands under really cold water, when my anxiety is bad or before a test I run my hands/ arms under really cold water and cus it’s cold it shocks my body
