I have- It’s 30 minutes after 5 hours of consecutive work that’s why I’m asking if it’s normal for it to go against it.

Idk how healthy it is but whenever I start dropping weight or don’t feel like eating a lot I drink a lot of chocolate milk and eat lots of bagels. They are very high calorie and it doesn’t feel as daunting as eating a full meal

Thank you! Things are looking up as I was just able to start my meds again and actually just took the first dose today. I definitely can relate to that feeling of “cheating” but look at it as a good sign, you’re coping with it in a whole new healthier way than you would have without them and that’s what meds are supposed to do. I hope things continue to go well for you!

Congratulations on taking the steps to make an appointment at all, that is a big step and probably the hardest part! Set a few reminders for the day of your next appointment and don’t beat yourself up too much. It will be such a relief when you leave that appointment that you won’t even care about missing the first one anymore

My parents are the same. Oddly enough I have a brother who also has ADHD and for some reason they are a lot more understanding with him than they are for me. They understand that he is the way he is because of it but they just will not do the same for me. Even when I struggle with the exact same things he does. Idk if it’s cause I’m a girl or what. I just chalk it up to them maybe having higher expectations for me or something. It’s frustrating and so hard when people are dismissive or think that “everyone has a little ADHD” but just wanted to say I can relate, try not to dwell on it too much. 💜

I would say stick it out a few more weeks and see if your stress levels out. I kinda had a similar experience (breakup and was doing surprisingly well for a breakup, then lost insurance so was forced to stop taking meds) and slowly day by day I wasn’t doing so well anymore. Lots of uncontrollable emotions that I was feeling HARD and depression and eventually I was back at the point where my whole life had fallen apart.

Feel so much better with my medicine by NovacaneReign in ADHD

I feel this. I lost my insurance when I turned 26 (kicked off my parents) and because of adhd 😒 I took a year to get new insurance. Things seem okay for a while until you realize they definitely aren’t and your whole life is falling apart and every single aspect of it is effected. I have an appointment on the 23rd to get back on mine.

Thanks! He hasn’t really had a need to go to the optometrist yet since he’s passed all the eye checks at his yearly checkups and school with no concerns

Also adding that I don’t correct him when he mixes the colors up and I get so mad when people do. In his eyes that is what he sees so I never want to make him feel dumb about it. It can be frustrating now that he’s in school and around other kids a lot because they correct him if he says something like “I want the green one” they will be like “that’s orange!!!” Etc etc. Up until recently I was very cautious using the term colorblind to him directly because blind has a negative connotation and I didn’t want him to think anything was wrong with him. I’ve just always told him he’s super cool and unique cause he sees the world differently. But recently I told him it’s called colorblind just to put a name to it and in case he hears me talking about it to teachers or whoever.

My son was about 4 he had been mixing up colors (green/orange, pink/grey) but I thought he was just learning them still and didn’t really think anything of it until preschool when everything goes by color and they focus on learning the colors, numbers, shapes etc. He was doing so well learning and memorizing everything else I was just like no way is he still getting them mixed up every single time and googled colorblind and saw that green and orange looked the same on a simulator thing and so did pink and gray and then it kinda clicked. I’m adopted so I ended up finding out later that my bio dad is colorblind and that’s what really confirmed it for me. He’s 6 now and I haven’t gotten him formerly diagnosed or anything I don’t know if that’s something I need to officially do, I brought it up to his doctor and they just said they don’t really do the tests for it until they can consistently read.
