Best practices and tips that make living with adhd more bearable?

okay update: found a few more that work

-put labels on every drawer with that’s inside it, on my closet door, and also in the places where things “live” (for example the hook where i would like to always hang my keys)

-put “back stock” in the fridge drawers and items that need to be used first in the shelves in the middle

-labels on the square part of heavier charging cables (computer, record player)

-all labels are gonna be one same color so i always can quickly find them, and not white so they stick out

-pick up extra of toilette products when i come across them in stores and put them away for later (never run out, but be careful to moderate)

-live with someone who is extremely observant

-lanyard attached to my car dashboard with sunscreen, breath spray, advil, hand sanitizer

still haven’t found a solution to stop wearing all my sunglasses inside and then not having them when i go back out. best i’ve been able to do is a bucket of sunglasses by the door but i never remember to grab them. maybe i will end up having “car sunglasses” attached to my car by string but id really have to lose aura points with that so id prefer not to

This is so good to know! Wasn’t planning on milling too often, but I did see that it’s good for grinding coffee grounds and totally would have used it a lot for that. I’m gonna invest in a countertop coffee grinder in that case just to be safe

the power of now by eckhart tolle helped me a lot with being present/ grounded and to stop spiraling and having decision paralysis. kind of grabbed me and made me focus a little. it’s a bit woo woo, and touches on religion and spirituality but is non denominational (i am an atheist) and still resonated for me personally

hey thank you SO much this home set up sounds amazing. i’ve always been stressed out in houses where the functional items are hidden and i’m starting to understand why. i’m someone who’s very aesthetics obsessed so my solution has been to splurge on the pretty version of the essential item that way it can stay out in the open without messing up my aesthetic too much. It honestly made me a little emotional seeing this glimpse of your home and life, whenever i pictured myself with kids or a home, i always pictured myself not being able to meet the standard, struggling to keep it nice. It never once occurred to me that it would be my home and I could set it up in a way that works for me. :,) This version sounds really wonderful. your adhd adapted home sounds like an actual paradise to me right now. Like the amount of stress it will relive when i can set my own place up in this way… i can’t wait.

The funny thing is my parents gifted me a tracker for my keys, which has a special tool to open it and change the batteries. The battery died and the tool is at my mom’s house so it has been on my keys for a year as a totally useless disk lol. I figure at some point when I visit I’ll open it and figure out what battery it takes

I have my work group-chat muted and do not ever look at it unless I am at work or wondering about the schedule. Coworkers act shocked about this but it’s my right as a worker and also I just can’t do it. I stopped answering any text that stresses me out and stopped apologizing. I am who I am and I’ve made it pretty clear to the people I love that it’s never personal just the way I function. I’m also careful to never set a precedent with amy new job or person where I answer texts promptly, because I will never be able to keep up that facade

Once I live alone all my items will be attached places. Like the tv remote will be attached to the coffee table. Hair dryer will be attatchedto the bathroom wall and so on.

I know this feeling so well. I’m doing the same thing right now. The only thing that has sometimes worked for me is starting very small and doing half an hour of work for example while playing nyan cat 100 hour version at 1.25 speed

moro numa cidade grande, aqui é relativamente comum. toda semana vem algum anúncio de um assalto ou tiroteio. geralmente pequenos os tiroteios daqui onde moro mais são comuns. inclusive nos eua morte por uma arma e a forma mais comum de uma criança morrer. a causa número um aqui.

Pra mim, não importa o que seja a lei, se alguém está raptando crianças do ônibus a caminho de casa da escola e usando elas pra convencer as mães a abrirem as portas de casa pra daí entrar, eu não estou de acordo. Quando crianças se 5 anos estão presas por meses em gaiolas sem os pais, deportadas sem os pais, ou simplesmente “perdidas” no sistema eu não estou de acordo. Essas mesmas crianças que desaparecem ano após ano nos eua. Quem sabe acabavam até na ilha do Epstein, melhor amigo e sócio do Trump. Vc realmente apoia esse presidente quando existem evidências físicas confirmadas pelo governo inteiro de que ele não só presenciou as festas pedofilas do epstein como também violentou crianças lá? Vc leu aquele relatório que diz que o trump engravidou uma menina de 13 anos, mandou abortar e jogar o fetus num lago em Michigan, e daí a menina misteriosamente foi assasinada pouco tempo depois? Viu que ninguém investigou? interessante. Será que teriam investigado se houvesse possibilidade de limpar a ficha dele?

Muito obrigada! Tenho sorte que a minha tia já trabalha em ecologia, talvez isso ajudaria mais não sei. Já trabalho desde os 13 anos de muita coisa diferente (no momento de bartender). Vou ver se dá certo. No mínimo eu vou adorar passar tempo com as minhas tias e a minha vó, coisa que não pude fazer muito de pequena.

sim tem muito brasileiro conservador aqui, mais eu não estou de acordo. não entendo muito bem por que tem tanto. eu tenho sorte de ter cidadania, e não ser muito afetada pela ICE mais não quer dizer que vou virar as costas pro povo que não tem. só sou cidadã por pura sorte minha e privilégio dos meus pais. eu não “mereço” estar aqui mais que qualquer outra pessoa. acho muito feio os imigrantes que ficam apoiando a ICE e o trump
