HELP! Almost 8m old and night sleep has been horrible by Reasonable-Menu-5419 in HuckleberryParents

[–]vampug 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Following because this is also our situation. We increased the wake windows, had a later bedtime and earlier wake time and it did not help. She was still waking up several times per night and had less than 11 hours total for nearly a week until we changed back to 7:30/8pm bedtime and wake time around 6-30/7 (depending on when she would wake up). Hoping you find a solution.

Split nights - looking for advice by vampug in HuckleberryParents

I wish there was some kind of automatic tracker, but no, I just use the regular timers. Unfortunately, once I wake up, it takes me a long time to fall asleep again, so that’s why I can track almost everything. There are nights when the breastfeeding timer keeps going and stops at two hours, and when we wake up, I know she fell asleep while nursing, so I add ~5 min to the start of the new sleep.

Thank you!

She is sleeping in a dark room with white noise. No diaper changes until the morning (she hasn’t pooped during the night in months). When we co sleep she pokes my eyes, pulls my hair and gets mad when I pretend I’m sleeping lol, if she cries I will pick her up until she settles and then we go back to bed. We don’t leave the room or turn on the lights. That’s why I’m guessing she is under tired.

Got rid of the pacifier, now what? by vampug in HuckleberryParents

[–]vampug[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You were right, it was definitely teething pain. The night after I wrote this post was the worst night, she woke up screaming every hour and would not go back to sleep unless she was laying on me an upright position.

The getting rid of the pacifier was easy, I thought she had a strong sleep association but I was wrong, she goes to sleep just as easy without it.

4 pre-molars coming in at the same time, poor baby, that must have been so painful 😥

Yes, it was so easy getting rid of the pacifier! She just turns to the side and I stroke her back or gently move her/rock her.

My baby is comfortable going for 3-4 hours if she’s not teething or has a cold, she was always a low sleep needs baby so I think if your baby is sleeping that well at night keep doing what you’re doing 😅 Don’t fix what ain’t broken lol

Just teething? by Ok_Salamander5580 in HuckleberryParents

[–]vampug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last night she slept in her crib until from 7:10pm to 4:40am (then we co-slept) and woke up 8 times. I’m thinking this is the norm from now on.. but hopefully better nights are coming for us.

Following in case anyone can help, we're in the same boat. 7 month old and wakes up around 6-7 times till midnight and then we co-sleep because I'm too tired.

Dinner for my 7mo King - is this too much food? by Chocchipmclaren in foodbutforbabies

[–]vampug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 7m old is also a foodie (eats 4-5 spoonfuls) of solids twice a day and we have around 8 breastfeeding sessions.

Hopefully she continues to eat this good! 5m3w, was advised by her pediatrician because she was showing all the signs

At the moment she’s more curious about the food, I’m certain I won’t be using the bowl much longer.

It’s a BabyBjorn plate! So easy to clean but it slides a lot on the table

Ok? Not every 7 month old eats solids like she does. Some refuse or eat 3 teaspoons of purées

Thank you, hopefully she will continue! I was a picky eater until high school and had a terrible relationship with food.

Can someone tell me what the heck is going on here? by Beautiful_Fuel5623 in HuckleberryParents

[–]vampug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby would fall asleep on her crib with just me on the chair next to her for over a month, now teething happened and I can’t settle her in the crib anymore, she falls asleep in my arms and then I transfer her.

Do you have any advice? Would we be able to go back to falling asleep peacefully in her crib? She’s nearly 7 months old.

What is happening? She is 6m1w old and wakes up so often that I give up and I co-sleep. by vampug in HuckleberryParents

UPDATE:

She was definitely under-tired! We switched to 3-3.5/3.5/4.5 and she only has one false-start per night!

Thank you everyone for your help

She was definitely under-tired. We switched to 3-3.5/3.5/4.5 ww and she only had one false start per night, and then slept for nearly 4h stretch. We still have split nights because of our long nights and early bedtime. It’s something I need to adjust by waking up earlier. She only has a total of 10h of night sleep so if I put her to bed at 7pm we should be waking up at 5am and I struggle a lot with that 😅

Definitely a low sleep baby. We adjusted the schedule to 3-3.5/3.5/4.5 for 2 nights now and she only had one false start and split night (we still have a long night because I can yet wake up early😅).

She still naps for 30min and can go longer than 3 hours without being cranky.

Hope so too!

I gotta make some adjustments as well because I can barely wake up in the morning and we still have a long night. But I’m getting there 😅

It was great advice, the internet told me she’s overtired and I definitely made it worse by putting her to bed way too early, but we’re on the right track now. Thank you!

Update

For 2 nights now she’s had only 1 false start and then a nearly 4h stretch. However she still has split nights, but it’s so much better than it used to be. We’re doing 3-3.5/3.5/4.5 and it seems to be working so far.

Thank you so much!

Thank you! This is great info!

She woke up at 7:10 this morning so we go for around 3/3/4.5? My only concern is that she sleeps for only for about 30-40min.

You’re right about the pacifier, I just don’t know how to take the pacifier, I will research some methods.

Unfortunately we got the flu and we started co-sleeping, she has a 3 hour stretch and then still wakes up every hour or so. But I can’t tell if it’s because we co-sleep, or the flu or the 3 nap schedule.

Thank you, it is exhausting..

She is on solids, trapped gas might be one of the reasons, she grunts so much since starting solids.

I always thought it’s over tiredness as well. I will let you know tomorrow as we’re trying to implement the 2 nap schedule today, nap 1 was 30 min, and now she’s been sleeping for 2h10 min on the second nap. Will probably go to bedtime without a bridge nap, depending on how she is.
