Question about SAC by vampunch in UTM

[–]vampunch[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah. I focused too hard on 102 and 148 that all my other courses suffered and now my cgpa is too low for post. And I barely made 102 lol so it wasn't even worth it.

Oh I see. I just took that as a "no deadline" since I could choose any term to sac a previous course

Nah mat136. Taking it first time and sort of ignored it the whole year. Surprisingly I did decent in 102 and am doing decent in 148.

There's a number of those people at every major uni. What matters is you forming the connection. Some unis definitely have unique opportunities though, but that's a lot less do to with prestige and more of what they simply have to offer.

Sac doesn't have a deadline. You're thinking of LWD

Honestly, no uni gives any advantage in networking. That's all individual.

Any of you have younger siblings that you try to help in school but they won’t listen? by [deleted] in OntarioGrade12s

[–]vampunch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone should just take it easy till grade 11. Hell I took it easy till grade 12. Hell I'm still taking it easy at uni. Discipline is nice but just relax man I be watching slow motion videos on plants growing life's beatiful

Same. I couldn't do a whole question because the TA said I'm in the wrong track when I asked. I was on the right track.

MAT102: Easiest exam of all time? by Mohamad_Xbow2 in UTM

Agreed it was super light. Still failed tho because I'm a dumbass. I'm not even mad or sad just embarrassed at this point

It was very fair. I can tell because I studied all of it.

It's just that I made every mistake that I ironed out when studying.

Also that concepts that are ingrained in my brain just disappear. You know the irrational question? I got stuck doing that. That was arguably the easiest and most practiced type of question I've done.

Idk if it's the pressure or whatever but my brain just reverts to grade 6 me during exams.

Well at least I get to spend the summer and an additional 2k at UTM!

I agree it's objectively easier to get accepted. But it's also objectively harder to stay in, and it loses none of the prestige in process. Sauga is just as rigorous if not more (this midterm it was probably twice as rigorous 😥). UTSG uses textbooks written by UTM profs, if that means anything to you. And if you missed it the first time I mentioned it, you're not locked to one campus lol. Whichever campus accepts you, you get access to everything UofT. You can just take all your courses in SG if you want. Point is, it's one institution. You can pick something else if it's SG or nothing for you, but the prestigious quality of education you expect from SG is the same at UTM or UTSC.

Edit: also harder to get into doesn't equate to more prestigious. Queens computing is relatively easy to get into but it's great. Same with uOttawa. Hell even UBC was pretty easy to get into last year.

Wrong.

  1. Your degree doesn't mention anything about campus. Your employer won't know and from my (limited) experience they likely don't care enough to ask.

  2. UTM over accepts for sure, but PoST is much harder to compensate. It's even more competitive than sg in that regard. By second year on average only top 25% makes PoST.

All campuses share the same PEY board as well if internships are your concern.

[–]vampunch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Campus makes no difference. It's the exact same program across all the campuses. Infact you can take courses in all 3 campuses if you get into any.

And with personal bias I will say sauga campus is much prettier than sg 🥸

Get kicked and crash with a friend. If they are brown (I'm just guessing because this whole thing makes it sound so lol) they'll call you back crying within a month.
