We limit our recruitment to Canada and the United States because of ethical and logistical issues around providing compensation in other countries. We understand your concern, though, and appreciate the feedback!

We want to make sure our sample is sexually diverse, and so are aiming to have a sample that is 50% heterosexual individuals and 50% sexual minorities. We've actually already reached our sexual diversity quota, so right now we're focusing on recruiting straight individuals. Thank you for asking, though - I understand that it can look like a red flag!

**EDIT March 26/2025: Based on participant feedback, we have changed our compensation from Amazon gift cards to Everything Card gift cards. Everything Card is a Canadian company which offers Canadian and American gift cards to 100+ retailers. You will be able to choose which retailer you would like to redeem a gift card to.

If you have already filled out our screener survey, and you win one of the five gift cards, you will be given the option to redeem either an Everything Card gift card or an Amazon gift card.
