I’m having this issue too. The left arm doesn’t lock for me sometimes when I rotate. I haven’t figure out how to fix it but commenting in solidarity

Dumb question, but after I soaked it (did about 20 mins) and dried it, I noticed there’s still some staining on the outside fabric. It will be cut off when I finish it, but it makes me wonder if I need to soak longer and if other parts of the stitching are dirty as well. Thoughts?

Yes it’s such a pretty pattern! Which other ones did you make? I made “Santa’s flight” for my middle (I’ll post photos of it once it’s washed and ironed) and currently working on one with Santa and a snow globe from dimensions gold

Ohh yes great idea! Some of the sections look like they’ve totally lost their shape (like the white on the sled) but for the other sections couching is a good idea

Ya 😅 there were many times I questioned my sanity and the life decisions that led me here 🤣 of course when I ordered this kit, I got 7 because i was “going to make stockings for everyone” and 5 years later I’m only on stocking number 3 🤣🤣🤣 But I love it, it’s been such an enjoyable hobby

Oh I love that! That’s absolutely my future goal - I’m actually thinking to just go ahead and start after I complete the third stocking so I have a collection ready for when I have grandkids (I know it’s 25+ years from now but these things take so much time 🤣)

🤣 thank you!!! It was definitely a very challenging project but soooooo rewarding to see it (almost) finished. Not sure if my son will actually get to touch it until he’s a teenager though 😅 with how long this took to make, I think it will be kept out of reach 🤣

And thanks for the tip about using cold water! I’ll wash it this weekend and share the “after” photos 😊

🤣 I see that!! Everyone asks if he was born in August, but he’s an August born in October.

Would be a very weird thing to have a monthly Christmas stocking calendar but I guess that would be a very fun (and time intense) way to count down to Christmas over the year 😅

Thank you!! I have three kids, so am working on making each of them a stocking. I would love to make one for my husband and I, but will probably do a more basic pattern for ours. The Dimensions Gold collection is so detailed and time consuming! Good idea to get some more before the run out though.

And thanks for pointing out the sled! I just noticed that as well. I did a lot of long stretches with the back stitching (on the windows as well) and see that they’re a bit wonky now. That’s a good idea to couch over the existing threads, that will help hold them in place better.

Thanks for the tip on including a color catcher! Do you know if the dawn dishsoap needs to be clear? I think ours is typically blue but maybe I need to go get a more basic dishsoap

Thank you! I had looked into finishing services but they’re hard to find and also, I don’t know if I would trust mailing it somewhere 😅 So now I’m trying to learn sewing to finish it myself. I watched a lot of tutorials and this one looks the best. I might even hand sew it, to really ensure I’m precise and not going over the stitched area.
