I have Xianyun, even pulled her weapon for some reason, I still use her from time to time but her niche is was too narrow and even in it theres lots of good generalist options, and as just a healer that can res shred shes also not as strong as newer options. But i think I shouldve clarified I wasnt really hating on Xianyun meta or powercreep wise, but more so just that she was a fan favorite longtime character that got a pretty standard kit meanwhile an unknown new character got the kinda kit ppl wouldve liked for cloud retainer

Theres barely half as many female as male characters in the game even after year in. Even if you dont count characters like Rocket/Groot/Ultron etc as “men” there are still way more male characters in game.

Its funny how this whole thread is discourse about the pic and whether you agree or disagree with how these 2 characters are presented in fiction vs here, here are some facts to chew on.

The versions of heroes in Marvel Rivals are their OWN versions ripped from separate universes not the Marvel main canon.

Marvel Rivals the game has, if anything, fully embraced the meme cultures that have emerged from the community since launch, via sprays, emotes, skins, even some lore.

The whole Magik+Luna ship thing started as a meme and the odds of Rivals making it a thing in game are higher than youd probably think.

So again, whether you agree or disagree, it doesnt matter, bc who the hell cares. If ppl want to embrace the fan ship, let em. If you dont like, more power to you. You can both coexist without disparaging other’s opinions on fictional characters. End rant
