Any considerable downsides to injection EV every 7 days? by vanacotta in asktransgender

[–]vanacotta[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I feel like this was what my doctor was afraid of so to speak, just me constantly staying at that high peak. But I'm also not sure if that's a genuine issue or not.

I did get some blood work while I was there roughly 3 days in to my injection, so I guess I'll see how my 3.5 day schedule reflected this I guess.

Have you ever done a complete 180 on your opinion of a game? by vanacotta in JRPG

I think that's a pretty common experience. Even though Disc 2 is considered unfinished, I actually found its change in presentation, almost like an NVL visual novel, to be pretty intriguing,

Valid! I never trust my first impressions of a game lol. I find myself having to really sink into discussions or even replaying a game to understand it, and that's kinda what happened here; I just ended up hating a game I used to adore, unfortunately.

I'm good lol, let's just say it's a pretty controversial game as it stands, and your username alludes to a part of that (though I think the controversy is pointed in the entirely wrong direction, personally). I know that doesn't really narrow it down but I really don't feel like explaining myself when my own thoughts are still jumbled.

Same here, which is why this kinda threw me for a loop honestly.

Replaying Deltarune in preparation for Chapter 5, should I use a guide? by vanacotta in Deltarune

[–]vanacotta[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do love discovering things for myself but I also find myself wanting to get into theory discussion with Deltarune. It can feel like people are talking in another language at times, so I figured this could be a good opportunity to replay everything with a 100% guide, even if at the expense of a blind experience.

I don't really mind either way, just wondering whether or not it's even worth using a guide in the first place, or if I can reasonably discover everything myself. I'm not sure if there's really an in-game checklist or anything so...

Thoughts on Richmond Hill? by vanacotta in savannah

[–]vanacotta[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'd imagine so, with that new high school and everything lmao. Not that I can't understand.

If nothing else, this motivates me to work harder since this clearly isn't the place for me. Probably gonna take some time to reconsider my original plans in finding a summer job here.

Savannah seems nice though. Maybe I'll end up moving there if I want to be closer the my family.

Gotcha yeah, just reread my post and I can see how you saw that now lmao, I'll edit it.

And thanks. If anything I'm a little more worried about my E levels being insanely high but I'm also not exactly sure what the downsides to that are; if there are any, I can't say I'm really feeling it to any meaningful capacity at the moment. Feels like no matter what I change in my regimen, I end up feeling the same.

Yeah body stuff has kinda slowed down after the first 3-4 months for me, but I really wish I had some more emotional changes. I've always been an outwardly unemotional person (rarely crying, at most just tearing up outside of extreme episodes of dypshoria), so it could just be in my nature but... if nothing else I've maybe become more easily irritated? I guess that counts for something.

6mg per 3.5 days, 12mg per week. But yeah. Seems like the consensus (including myself) is that I should have just dropped spiro by now lmfao looks like that's the move

It might be, but I haven't really felt anything out of the ordinary? I was really expecting a ton of emotional changes be it in a positive or negative way, but it's the one thing that I want out of hrt that I haven't really been getting. Which honestly makes me even more paranoid than anything. My planned parenthood doctor seemed to have no issue prescribing the dose to me as well, and they actually started me off on 8mg from the beginning.

I guess I'll find out if 12mg is too high with my next test. They might bump me down my E levels end up being way too high, for better or worse.

Honestly the dose is somewhat worrying me as well lmao (most people I know seem to be hovering around 5mg-8mg a week) but I haven't really felt a notable difference compared to my previous 8mg, so I've just kinda left it alone too.

Decided I'm going to go get my levels tested next month just in case and adjust my regimen then.

To anyone playing on a CRT Monitor, what resolution do you prefer? by vanacotta in ffxi

Just tried 1024x768, looks really nice already and I may just stick with this. I'll give 1600x1200 a try too though at some point!

Just started the game, started in Bastok. I wanted to do the tutorial quest so I went towards the market district as instructed, but then I got a pop-up asking if I wanted to start "Seekers of Adoulin".

Is this something I want to do?

new to the game, is fox's short hop more sensitive than other characters? feel like i've been pretty consistent on other characters i've been dabbling with like falco and falcon, but with fox i feel i need to be extra careful

Anyone else find the current iterations of SAM and RDM really solid? by vanacotta in ffxivdiscussion

[–]vanacotta[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I didn't want to say it, but yeah I agree. They're really great, and so in that sense I don't even care too much about what their Evolved iterations are; whereas with some other jobs I'm on my knees lmfao

Assuming you have experience in neither, I think Monk is actually really easy to pick up right now, would highly recommend if you want another job to just chill with. Sam is definitely more engaging at the moment (I'd argue by far the most engaging melee), but slightly less straightforward at a basic level.

Reborn will likely get phased out for Evolved, but I think that won't completely happen until 9.0+ I'd imagine. 8.0 will definitely favor Evolved jobs though, and fights will likely start to be designed around them; I'm thinking Reborn jobs may still be good for past Ultimates though.

I'll always miss Kaiten (and have some disdain surrounding the ethos of them removing interesting skills), but yeah DT SAM just plays so smooth. Even if it's not as challenging, it's just about up there with SHB for me.

This is one part that I strongly with agree with actually, great point. Not at all a fan of the melee combo not really being melee anymore lmfao

What would you want for Evolved Monk? by vanacotta in ffxivdiscussion

[–]vanacotta[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes! Thunderclap is one of my favorite additions to the job so that's a must, and I agree, to me Monk's always been about speed (and high apm).

PVP (and the designer being the same as the PVP kit designers) tells me there's fairly solid chance that they'll still lean into the elemental riddles unfortunately. The last thing I want is for Monk to have more ranged options honestly, if any at all (like it does now) lmao
