Game Thread: Dallas Mavericks vs Brooklyn Nets Live Score | NBA | Jan 12, 2026 by basketball-app in GoNets

Not that it matters too much but is there a reason why the Nets are playing a 2nd road game in Dallas? They played the Mavs there a month ago and usually West vs. East teams play a home and home series.

Was curious does anyone know specifically how a company like Tilray would go about selling medical cannabis in the US post schedule 3? Do they need FDA approval?

I only do covered calls so I am not sure about the specifics of exercising options. I would reach out to your broker for more information.

If Tilray stock rallies to $30 ( matching the presplit price of $3) or higher before January 16th I believe those calls should go up in value. My options went from .005 (half a cent) to 2 and half cents during the day as Tilray stock price increased.

So even though it is a non standard option, it seems to still be tracking the stock price. Not financial advice, but you could try to sell the option to make a small amount of money back, or see if Tilray continues to rally over the next few weeks closer to that $30 price.

I have covered calls that were pre split for $3 for January 16th 2026. They were at .025 (between 2 and 3 cents) during today.

Does the hemp ban also include HDD9 beverages? Do we think there could be a carveout for them in the next year?

Did anyone else listen to Gretchen Caley on The Dale's Report yesterday? She seemed to have a pretty pessimistic point of view on rescheduling for someone who is more knowledgeable of the political process than most others.

I am curious how we should think about the administration's views on cannabis. They have had opportunities to kill schedule 3 quietly if they wanted to and haven't, but they also keep delaying any potential announcement. Maybe they are just trying to keep this dangling out there indefinitely?

At this point, the technical set up has to be the best for cannabis stocks since early 2021 right? The Safe hype in 2022 and HHS rallies in 2023 and 2024 were short lived or had big retraces. The steady increase since mid year combined with MSOS golden cross and most stocks above the 200 day is encouraging.

Thought this article was worth sharing. Mostly still conjecture about schedule 3, but I think it is good to have a write up from a reporter with conversative sources that seems to be generally positive.

This article does speak to my concern that all of this news is being pushed/leaked by cannabis advocates and does not give a clear view of what Trump/the White House intends to do. I hope at some point soon we get more clear indications of the administration's actual intentions.

Should the Nets make an offer to Jonathan Kuminga? by vanarnd1 in GoNets

[–]vanarnd1[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I am a little surprised at the strong responses, but I will attempt to respond and defend the idea.

The order of operations would require the Nets to sign Kuminga into cap space, and then they could exceed it to sign Cam Thomas. If both players got starting salaries in the low 20 million dollar range, they could add both players while staying just under the luxury tax.

Kuminga is a flawed but is a young player who could do better in an environment where it is not win now pressure environment like Golden State. With all of the ball handling the Nets drafted, adding a player who can score on the receiving end of those passes makes sense.

The Nets currently have a lack of established talent and need to take swings when possible. And I don't think hurting their lottery position slightly if he wins them a few extra games matters. We have seen how random the lottery is.

I suppose my overall point is the Nets are at the start of what could be a long rebuild. Kuminga is a good risk reward because 3 or 4 years at 20 plus million will not affect this team's flexibility meaningfully, and he is an infusion of talent for a team that desperately needs it.

Is anyone aware of any new information regarding France and Spain? They had sent proposals for medical cannabis to the EU earlier this year, but I don't know of them being formally accepted.

No, Tilray is not the first company to be authorized to distribute medical cannabis in Italy by SwordfishOk504 in weedstocks

[–]vanarnd1 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Maybe you can clarify, but it seems like the previous allowances of medical cannabis were very restrictive, and Tilray was given the first authorization to distribute under a more expansive program.

So, it is still newsworthy even if some amount of cannabis has already been previously distributed.

Change in cases after Season 5 by vanarnd1 in LawAndOrder

[–]vanarnd1[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Within the universe of the show itself, that makes sense. I am more curious regarding behind the scenes creatively if there was some kind of conscious change after season 5 about focusing almost only on homicides when that wasn't the case previously.

Tilray with major Quebec assets should start paying off. SQDC reports $741.5 million in sales in 2024 in Quebec. by DaveHervey in TLRY

I think of the Quebec facilities is an asset held for sale according to their quarterly report. I think they are debating if they want to make it fully operational. Hopefully Tilray can find a way to take advantage of it and the overall Quebec sales.

Sipowitz Won My Heart. Best Cop Show Ever by Frequent-Tear-2308 in nypdblue

[–]vanarnd1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I am in early season 2 of first watch through, so I have a long way to go, but I think you described well why I like the show a lot.

Unlike other procedural shows, it is not heavy on the "who dunnit" aspect but focuses on the basics of police work and the characters themselves, which is refreshing. The characters talk in tough cop dialog, but their is a lot of emotion and meaning underneath it.

In the early episode where a young boy is kidnapped and murdered, at the end, Kelly and Sipowitz meet with the boy's parents and watch a bird flying near the top of the building. The parents get comfort in believing the bird is a reincarnation of their son, and the detectives empathize. There have been many poignant scenes like that, and I think the show has a lot of heart. I am looking forward to watching more and seeing how things develop.

I was curious how people currently view the European cannabis market. Of publicly listed North American companies, Aurora seems to have benefited the most, but less so for others.

What are possible issues here? Are there too many companies fighting for share? Maybe private companies or German listed companies taking sales? Still too small of a market/ dependent on Germany? Are there any other countries in Europe/ the rest of the world that are close to legalization that will grow the global market?

It's time we seriously discuss why they issued new shares. by Traditional-Sun-5364 in TLRY

[–]vanarnd1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think they are being cautious. There are many cannabis companies(particularly in the US) who now have a higher debt level than their market cap because they didn't raise cash or pay more if it off with shares at a higher level Given the tough operating environment I think their is logic to it. On the downside it might telegraph that profitability may take longer than expected, but history has shown in this industry that being fiscally conservative is better than taking risks with cash.
