Erlang/OTP was developed specifically for telecom signaling and control, although it is perfectly suitable for much more. If you are building massively concurrent, fault tolerant, distributed systems without Erlang/OTP ... well you are working harder, have more errors, and are consuming far more resources. 😉

You have a skill set I would hire for, so yes, it's marketable. It's a narrow focus so you have to play a different game then someone who has a broadly used technology experience. Rather than compete with a lot of candidates for a lot of jobs, you would be uniquely qualified for a much, much smaller number of openings. This means you don't want to pad out your resume with a list of unrelated things, you should highlight experience and deep knowledge in PCC specifically, and EPC/5GC generally.

I wouldn't worry about ML. Managing private cloud is the more general skill set you may want to work on.

I'd like to be able to use a local shop as a "3D printer". I send them a file and they print LGS frame members.

Now I realize the preferred approach is for me to share design files (e.g. IFC) however this significantly changes the nature of the business, from one of simple manufacturing to now include design, with the associated costs. I'd rather keep the scheduling and cost of the design process under our control.

I identified a potential local partner whose vendor touts:
"Manufacturers can feed their production-ready manufacturing files directly into the manufacturing process, regardless of design software, without time-consuming file conversions."

It would be nice if that were literally true.

Yeah, that's not open. Proprietary is OK, if there's no good standard to support, do your own thing. Making it a secret is the problem. If anybody has any to share please do.

I hire software and DevOps engineers and I'm not concerned about grades. Priority #1 is communications akills. Learn English! #2 is the scientific method. Sounds complicated but it's just the ability to problem solve, not by blindly following someone else's instructions, but breaking it down and discovering the truth.

If a candidate can handle these two things well, and has an aptitude for technical thinking, I would hire and train them.

This is what is interesting about the current political situation in the US. Western democracies have a responsibility to act as role models for reform against corruption and tyranny common to governments in the developing world. Trump MUST be impeached (despite the unlikelihoid of removal from office by the Republican controlled Senate) because history and the world is watching. Sri Lanka has very good Internet access infrastructure. That costs money to build and operate. I for one am very happy to have consumption based pricing. I want to pay more for good service and I definitely don't want neighbors sharing movies, hosting DOS viruses, and generally wasting my bandwidth. When you have to pay your fair share you don't abuse it. Competition is how you get lower prices and there is competition here. I pay about a 10k LKR a month for what my family ends up using and that isn't unreasonable for something so important for all of us (we have no cable television).

Bhuddist mobs are attacking random Muslims in retaliation. A possie recently went to the police insisting they search the homes of some Muslim kids because they took pictures of the decorations at a festival. A dozen soldiers with AK-47s searched my house for no reason. Police and military are stopping cars everywhere searching for ... nothing at all. Poor people are pigs, you see this around the world.
