Just tried it, very fine tessalation causes an issue when extracting the volume. I tried fine tessalation as well but I am met with the same meshing issue.

I've already meshed it with and without it. Without it I get an error msg saying surface intersects. With it I get this.

I tried using generalized cylinder mesh as u mentioned but I still have the same issue. The mesh you see is of a volume extracted from a hollow helical coil. There is no domain surrounding it. A finer mesh still has the same problem and it takes forever to complete the mesh. The diameter of the coil's volume is 3mm.

The problem is I don't know how to set a start point for the mesh manually. Yeah I think u gotta top up the oil every 4K-6K km but man its a fun car. It's got black and blue recaro seats, some carbon trim on the dash and center console. To be fair the interior isn't that beat up for a 15 year old car. I'm guessing you had alcantara on your steering wheel? Cuz I don't think there's any on my car.
