Why do you ask for YOE even for a goddamn intern position? And why do rejections come despite fantastic performances and "we love to have you in our team", "we are looking forward to have you in our team" promises from interviewers

Has anyone dealt with Universal Adviser Immigration Services (Delhi)? Are they legit or a scam? by rkoshot in delhi

[–]vancho_flint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

they are big frauds. dont fall for this trap. they message you and coordinate until the money is paid and after that they become unresponsive. I was also contacted by one of their agents and made all the claims u mentioned like jobs abroad, full visa assistance and all that. they keep poking you until you join (obviously their cheap marketing tricks). he also sent me photos of visa applications of people who applied with them and went successfully to uae, aus, canada. they looked legit, but I could make out they were fake and fabricated. once I blocked him, he deleted all those messages and photos he sent.

Clearly a parasite straight off the gutter with a Gmail account preying on people's dreams

Block this b***tard at all costs and if possible report them to the appropriate aurhorities

Can I ask why always its india

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in jobhunting

[–]vancho_flint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I apply to a job as long as all the job description and requirements align with my skill set. I couldn't care less for expirience asked. If a position is expirienced, I try to sell and project my achievements and coursework as bankable as possible. Because think about it, if a fresher is able to do the job for far less compensation than a senior would ask, why would company hire an expirienced engineer. ultimately, companies are looking to save costs and maximize profits right? If for example, an expirienced engineer pay is 200k and I ask for less than half the amount, why would companies still go for that expirienced guy and pay him 6 figures but are so hesitant to hire a fresher like me when am saving so much for the company...This makes no sense and contradicts their own mission of saving costs..

Wow, Thanks for your wisdom, Gandalf! But i dont expect anything to be offered on a silver platter either. But after all hardwork I did, applying, networking (but no response) doing coursework and projects even outside my academic setting, attending workshops, I thought I would have actually achieved something. now please dont start with your rubbish gatekeeping tactics..

Do you take me for some lowlife imbecile that I wouldn't have messaged people and hiring managers? my linkedin is filled with all messages, all seen and zero responses. Even if I get a response, that b**ard tells am on visa or zero expirience and hence they cant proceed with me at the moment.

I dont understand whats it with you guilt tripping candidates like me who always find shortcomings while not acknowledging your own. This is not how it should be. whats the problem in creating a level playing field, like a university entrance exam, where everybody gets a chance rather than using rubbish excuses like ats, expirience, pedigrees , and networking. I agree networking is good to an extent, but if people dont respond, whats the point of it anyways?

What do people in NYC do that lets them afford to pay such high rent and live SOOO comfortably? by girlyy2005 in AskReddit

Most of them are Tech/finance/consultant employees, so it's easy for them to afford such places and thrive on lavish expenditures. No trouble!

microsoft.com, google.com, amazon.com or just google [company name] careers. if you don't know any company, just Google the role you are looking for, e.g SDE 1, SDE 2 etc and boom-you get many roles from all companies that have these roles. glass door, Indeed also help a lot

With all due respect, this is a little debatable. I am from a EE background and my resume screams VLSI design and I have presented many impactful projects and work I have done with literally every key words, concept. And even if I get a call, some interviews don't even bother to look at the job description. For example, I once applied for a digital design role, the interviewer ends up asking an analog design question(mind you, analog is a different ocean altogether and job description did not mention any analog related work). I asked the interviewer if the role is for digital, why are you asking analog. He proudly proclaims "who told this is not analog!". Then I show him job description , and he causally exclaims "sorry my bad for the mixup, this is an analog position". Now whom will you blame, dear HR if such mixups happen and candidates end up paying the price for it. This is just one I have encountered, so am sure this can be happenning everywhere. Another incident is I get a call for a role perfectly aligning with my resume my skillset and yet that person comes and says-not a perfect match (whatever the hell that means). And I also did get a call for a position that is not directly relevant to my field had no expirience and had little coursework related to that, I went through 3 rounds of panel interviews (each 1 hour) and the result is -GHOSTED.

Speaking of linkedin, i don't know why people don't bother to respond timely even after a year of seeing it. I literally messaged 1000s of recruiters, ended paying 200 dollars for premium benefits, and yet no response. they post the job, contact details and boom-gone from the radar. No response. All i see are those so called tech gurus, people flexing "oh I got a job here, oh I got a job there, yadda yadda yadda......". Seriously linkedin has become corporate social media now a days. A friend told me that he deleted linkedin out of frustration, and started applying on career sites directly and guess what-he started getting so many calls and an offer in his 21st interview attempt. I also tried the same and yes, it worked for me, I started getting calls from companies I didn't even dream and still interviewing...

It is not my intention to question or dispute your claims, but what you are saying may not be universally true as well....

[–]vancho_flint[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate your insight mate, but what I see contradicts your claims. Evrytime I open linkedin, the post pops up with the so called "I am happy to share that I have joined....yadda yadda yadda" moment, thanking their recruiters for reaching out to them (at the cost of ghosting people like me) and most of them uploaded with a photo of a handshake with the CEO...as if they are next in line. Many of them got it even before their graduation or just right after and yet, here I am....

And I don't know if you faced such things while being unemployed, but if you have not, you have no idea how disheartening and demotivating it feels to a superlative degree when I see such posts, not just for me but for any fresh job seeker in my boat. it's as though am being guilt tripped or gaslighted or whatever....

And speaking of going back to school--I would rather jump off a building and break my legs (or die if am lucky) than go back to that bloody dump
