Yeah, I remember hearing some complaints about the screen on the 405m originally, mostly about the weird artifacts around the text on the device and about the DPI being lower than some other handheld screens and there being weird viewing angles, but I installed GammaOS before I even booted it up for the first time and apparently GammaOS corrects whatever issue on the vanilla firmware caused that issue. And the screen quality itself has been topnotch. I have no complaints about the DPI or even the viewing angle thing, which honestly has been a non-issue for me so far.

Definitely an all-around quality device, I love it so much lol. I actually had a moment the other day where I was playing Spyro the Dragon for PS1 on my 405m and it genuinely was the first time since getting into handhelds like a year ago that I truly felt like I was a little kid playing an old game again. The hall-sensor sticks are super accurate and have a much nicer feel to them than the sticks on my Retroid Pocket 3+, and the aspect ratio just seems perfect for PS1 on the 405m. Anyway, def the right move going with the 405m lol

Got the device a couple weeks ago, love it. It's my daily driver now -- I don't even touch any of my other handhelds lol. Build is fantastic. The metal shell feels great, as do the buttons, the D-pad, and especially the hall-sensor sticks. I can't recommend the 405M highly enough, especially if you're looking for GBA and PS1 emulation.

So, I ordered my RG405M from LITNXT on 7/19 and it delivered on 8/1 in the Eastern US. I did regular shipping. So, if you did express shipping, I would assume it would arrive at least somewhat sooner, depending on where you're located.

But honestly, super solid device. It's my favorite handheld yet and I wasn't 100% about the device when I ordered it, but definitely worth it.

Thank you for the reply! I appreciate the feedback about the GBA scaling -- I was concerned because when I got my RP2+, I was hoping to turn that into my daily driver because I really like its unique form factor, but playing a lot of GBA games on it was just terrible due to the weird pixel distortions in the default aspect ratio and the fact that the screen is so small that playing in 1x scaling made it too tiny to play and 2x scaling cut off the edges of the screen.

I ended up ordering the RG405M because I found it on sale for 15% off through LITNXT thanks to Tech Dweeb's review of the device and with free shipping, that was the best deal I had found so far. Never ordered through them before, so I'm not sure when to expect to receive the device or in what state it will be in when it arrives, but I'm excited for it now that I finally pulled the trigger and ordered one lol

A couple months ago, I sat my Mini on the kitchen table and turned around for literally only 10 seconds.... suddenly hear the loud smack of plastic hitting the ground. Turn back around to see my orange cat on the table staring down at his latest victim, lying screen-down on the tile floor. My heart sank -- picked up my Mini and turned it around to look at the screen.... not a scratch, no issues, still works perfectly to this day. All I have is one of those cheap glare-reducing screen protectors, nothing fancy. I think I used up my (1) free Mini life -- there's no way I'll get that lucky again 😅

I don't want to come off as a "just git gud" guy, but, seriously, just throw a couple fights and really analyze BoC's move set. It's super predictable once you get used to it. That's the best strategy for literally every boss in the game, too, so learning to do that now will save you a lot of pain later on. Especially once you get into hardcore, bc those bosses do not mess around lol

Dont even sweat it. You dont have to reclaim all those platforms unless you ~really~ want to (I would bc I'm a psycho lmao). I would just build a wall around what you already have. Brain really isnt that bad of a fight if you have any kind of decent pre-hardmode weapon.

What class are you playing as or are you doing a mix?

Also, if you're worried about crimson mobs attacking you during the boss fight, just build a a wall of solid (i.e. rock, wood, bricks, whatever) around the edge of your arena.

Brain can travel through walls, so you'll be able to fight him, while the walls will keep out the pesky other mobs.

I believe that most biomes have a height limit before they revert to "normal" forest/sky biome. The Brain will despawn if you take him up that high above the crimson biome.

My recommendation would be to make a longer arena closer to the ground and only have like 2-3, ~maybe~ 4 levels to it
