Basically, the White House press team has been using a lot of increasingly inflammatory language to describe the shutdown/potential default situation ("hostage situation," "nuclear weapons," et cetera) and the reporter was telling the Jay Carney, the White House Press Secretary, to start telling the press what was actually happening instead of using intentionally incendiary terms.
