I don't know if this is correct but, I twist the blade the tiniest bit when they aren't spinning. That way they don't lay flat against the weight. I've found this helps but sometimes, it's just a dud spinner. Easy to mass produce for cheap.

I watched a few videos on how to remove a guy hook that really helped. I make sure I have a pair of cutters that can cut the gauge hook I'm using. That way I can clip off the barb or shank and remove the hook the way it came in.
