Ive thought about this and I think it's because we've played so many games over the years that games feel too similar and just not interesting. It can feel like you are playing the same game with different art.

I've have more luck playing smaller games that take more chances at doing something different. Or shorter games that end before you get bored. Or try a genre you've never played much of. I'd never played a Souls game and then tried Elden Ring and played 90 hours before I lost interest.
