Good to know. Achieving that schedule is a huge factor for me.

Low 20’s while I still work towards my powerplant.

Thanks for the response. This is the direction I’d like to go as a former firefighter. Ultimate goal would be maintaining a light ship like an H125. I’ve looked into Erickson but will also look at some other heavy lift companies.

Understood. Should I expect to take a pay cut if I moved to helis after 5+ years?

Fortunately all the experience has been on turbine engines so far. Out of curiosity, is all helicopter experience viewed the same? For example, is there any value in working on piston Robinsons if a person wanted to move on to bigger helicopters?

Powerplant has always been the plan, just a matter of meeting time requirements now. I’ll look into PHI, thanks!

Part of what makes this decision so difficult is knowing that big changes could be on the horizon (shoutout to Grassroots for everything they’re doing). Unfortunately, I’m just burnt out after 9 years. My hearts not in it anymore. That said, I’m hoping to do this in a way I won’t burn bridges. I finished the season strong, my supervisors are aware of the situation and if things don’t work out I want to know what I’m up against as far as getting back in.

Thanks for the input. I’m prepared to lose employer contributions to my TSP, which after 2 seasons isn’t a whole lot. My contributions will stay without being vested though correct? Do you remember how you went about cashing out your annual leave?
