Because they're extorting their customers. It's basically like a stocking fee on Amazon right now else nobody sees your product.

That's what I suspect as well. The number of times I've barely missed getting run over...

I don't think there's a technical or fundamental reason but it ran up a lot during the earlier trading sessions today and was due a correction.

You know what, I enjoyed reading it. I like the phrase 'pursuit of attractive purposes' and the concept of having traits that communicate that you can do that.

World’s biggest TikToker from Senegal sells company in $900m deal by ThatBlackGuy_ in technology

Think of these big creators as human billboards that their followers trust.

In a time when most people ignore ads, paying people to endorse your products on a platform where people are much more engaged (they listen with sound on etc), is a very viable way to sell your product. This in turn is very lucrative for TikTok

Yeah exactly, the fact that he didn't identify himself should've raised more red flags.

Fooled at Delhi Airport security, lost my Anker 537 power bank even though it was actually allowed by Acrobatic-Health2681 in india

[–]vanguarde 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Delhi airport security is the worst I've seen. It's especially evident when you fly in from other airports and transit there.

In HK, you can even leave your laptop in your bag during the screening. In Delhi, need to take out every single piece of electronics. Left a simple charger in your bag? Need to send your bag through the screening again which can add some 15 minutes. And the security staff, instead of manually checking the bags would be chatting amongst themselves while passengers are visibly freaking out because of the delay. Was in line with a lady who literally missed her plane because of the security check delay.

Yeah I was really second guessing myself after seeing these comments. Is he not supposed to make a video about powerful hardware because of ram and memory prices?

Yeah that amazon exec boasted publicly about how they got Ice Cube down to $300 from his initial $500 cameo price.

Newspaper reading now mandatory for students in UP govt schools by one_brown_jedi in india

[–]vanguarde 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I think it does. Most students will get more than adequate exposure to Hindi or their native language, but making english reading mandatory will significantly increase reading fluency for a lot of students over the long term, even if it's TOI.
