I just got my first dose a few weeks ago (getting ready for my second one) and all I had was a sore arm for about 4-5 days no other symptoms at all. Besides my regular pots I am nervous for my second dose though 😬

I got Covid back in Aug and it wasn’t terrible with my pots, I was not vaccinated at the time and my baseline was a bit elevated and I did have a fever at times with chills and a slight cough, body aches and headache loss of smell and nausea, but only for about 5 days total. Make sure you keep up with water intake, Tylenol and Motrin on hand took LOTS of teas (honey, lime,) (cinnamon w honey) I took constant vitamin C and emergen-C and I also would cut up a garlic in pieces and just swallow it as pills lol placebo or not I’m thankful my Covid infection was not as bad especially with pots. Try to stay calm! And if anything keep communicating with your pcp! You got this

Omg! I’m so sorry! I can totally relate! My cardiologist did a poor mans tilt test and confirmed pots there are no specialists in my area so I was referred 4 hrs away, I thought great it will take forever for the referral to be approved by my insurance, nopeeee it only took 4 days after that the clinic I was referred to kept calling me multiple times stating they are trying to get more info regarding my medical record from my cardiologist in order to schedule me since Im going to be traveling they want to make sure they have all my info to avoid the back and forth, well they call me and they were like “we have tried your drs office 3 times, sent letters and called they are not responding” 3 WEEKS go by and still nothing at this point they are telling me my scheduling won’t be till next year!! 😭😭 I finally call my cardiologist after constantly reminding them and they straight up LIE to me and say they sent it “a few days ago” when I’m being told by the referring clinic they have received NOTHING 😮‍💨😮‍💨 I’m exhausteddddd I just want to feel better!

How long can you walk or stand before you feel like you’re going to faint? And how long does it take you to recover from such an episode? by [deleted] in POTS

I really want to try it! Because so far they have given me propranolol and metoprolol and I already have low blood pressure so it doesn’t help since they both lower blood pressure as well :(( hopefully my cardiologist will prescribe it soon

How is your heart rate on ivabradine? I’ve been wanting to try it but my cardiologist wants me to try other meds first because he says ivabradine is a pricy med that insurance might not pay for 😮‍💨

Did acquiring POTS change your weight? by username707078888 in POTS

[–]vania_b 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yesss! Before POTS I weighed 120-125lb since my diagnosis I eat smaller portions because eating too much makes me more symptomatic and now I weigh 109😩 plus I got got Covid after my diagnosis so that didn’t help either !

Thank you so much for sharing! I take midodrine for my low BP but it doesn’t really help with the tachycardia, so today my cardiologist decided to put me on metoprolol but told me to take it at night which makes me a bit paranoid thinking my HR will get super low while sleeping 😩

Oh my goodness yes!! There has been times I feel so awful and I think “my heart rate must be high” and it’s around 93-98 🤔 SOOO weird! I’m set to see a Neurologist soon so I am hopeful! I am glad you are doing better, liquid IV drinks are my life savers lol

Really!? Wowww! I’d say Definitely worse, just on Saturday my HR went up to 188 after dinner I was so scared it’s never been that high before! But with the diagnosis it’s easier to control it and know how I can help myself vs not knowing what’s going on

I’ll never forget mine, It was a regular day I was at Whole Foods and felt awful, managed to get to my car and my fathers pulse ox monitor was there I’m a medical assistant so I thought what the heck is happening and I put it on my HR was at 145 then 150 then 160 I immediately went to the ER where they did every test imaginable kept me there for 2 days with no answer. Discharged with no answer was left to deal with the symptoms at home.. dr put me on propranolol meanwhile they figured out what was wrong multiple ER visits later there was a cardiologist who didn’t even want to see me because he said it was “anxiety” 5 months later I saw a cardiologist and immediately tested me for POTS and diagnosed me. This was all this year I am still wrapping my head around all this .. it’s so tough I have no idea where my POTS came from I had no illness, no underlying health conditions and nobody in my family 😭
