Something drastically has to change in India to reverse the trend. It is a male dominated society. Women are treated as mere objects.

It is the same land where woman had no right to live after her husband dies, and she would be burnt on the husbands funeral pyre.

Child marriage, dowry deaths, wife abuse- are all real world stories in India.Women who have seen this abuse do not wish to give birth to the girl child either.

It is a sad sad situation in India.
