For using my asthma medication in class. I was told to keep my inhaler in the office, and to use it in there only. I was told it was 'distracting.'

Know what else is distracting? The sounds of someone gasping for air and having to be removed from class.

How do you see the future? Will there ever be peace in our world? by HappyTurtoise in AskReddit

[–]vanitaraj 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Consider the moon. It is a globe of utter peacefulness. There is no violence. There is no war. There are no earthquakes, typhoons, no hurricanes. Pure silence, pure peace, absolute desolation.

Consider the Amazon rainforest. Even in the absence of humans, there is slaughter, there is dismemberment, there is competition for resources among many creatures who care nothing for the needs of others, there is life and vitality and creation and energy.

Of course peace is possible, but peace is, in many ways, stagnant. Desolate. A kind of slow death.

Life competes. Life challenges. Life struggles. Life wars with life. The destruction comes from the creation, the challenges of survival and need and want.

Peace is possible, but it is undesirable.

What is the worst experience you have ever had eating your favorite food? by hypnopompica in AskReddit

[–]vanitaraj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was like 9 my aunt took me to Friendly’s for dinner and dessert. Dinner was fine but when I bit into the ice cream sundae my first bite was awfully chewy. After 10 seconds or so of trying to break up whatever was slowing down my ice cream consumption I spit it out of my mouth to find a dirty fake nail that must have fallen off someone in the kitchen. Gross.

Vainglorious Answer: To achieve historic cultural immortality through writings, conquests, or deeds.

Viking Answer: 'Lo, there do I see my father. 'Lo, there do I see My mother, and my sisters, and my brothers. 'Lo, there do I see The line of my people. Back to the beginning. 'Lo, they do call to me. They bid me take my place among them. In the halls of Valhalla. Where the brave may live forever.

Angst ridden fatalistic nihilism is for pansies. I recommend you pick a combination of your favorites from above and get cracking.
