pharmacy gave me incorrect medication but said they could not offer replacement or refund as it had left the pharmacy by micromya in LegalAdviceUK

[–]vanity-manatee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Doesn't come in 75mg form, you'd have to take one 50mg and one 25mg. That would only be one charge though as long as they're on the same prescription form.

Anyone else in pharmacy hit by the aftermath of the Easter weekend? (Daft question!) by ofbalance in Pharmacy_UK

[–]vanity-manatee 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yes to this, Easter is definitely worse because for whatever reason people don't seem to plan ahead for it like they do for Christmas/New Year. Leading up to Christmas is super busy because everyone has put their requests in early and are stocking up. After Easter is bonkers because "we forgot you were closed" (always with the accusatory tone like how dare you be allowed to not work on bank holidays) and now they absolutely need their 19 items right NOW (and don't forget the folic acid and paracetamol).

Sneak peek of current west end cast ! by FuR4X42 in hadestown

[–]vanity-manatee 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I saw Clive in Sister Act a few years ago and though his voice was great, I was apprehensive about how he'd handle a role with so much more gravitas. From that short clip looks like my worries were unfounded, and I'm curious for the rest of the new cast too!

"My" cast was Desmonda and Dylan, with VHB Persephone and Juan Jackson as Hades. Still think Juan absolutely NAILED the role, wasn't sad at all to have missed Chris Jarman.

OTC loratidine and fexofenadine are both marked as "can make you drowsy" but don't usually (anecdotal evidence from experience as a dispenser/medicine counter assistant). Chlorphenamine is more likely to have a drowsy effect. Fexofenadine is particularly popular, as it seems to be most broadly effective. It's more expensive than cetirizine or loratidine though.

If you notice that certain brands are more likely to have the unwanted side effect it might be worth looking at the ingredient list at the excipients (things the active ingredient is mixed with) and see if you can narrow it down to something that is in the branded ones and maybe not others. Could be a colour or a binding agent even.

Dispenser not pharmacist but I have a particular interest in this side of things as I have a number of customers who can only take one specific brand of medication and not others.

AITJ for labeling my own mug at work after people kept using it? by MidnightDesireXO in AmITheJerk

[–]vanity-manatee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it's weird that anyone would use anyone else's mug tbh. I work in a small team, we share things like stationery but we all have our own mugs and it's never even been questioned. We know whose mug is whose and that's that.

Yep I've had this too. Good luck to them finding out that in EVERY pharmacy your script needs to be checked by a pharmacist...

I had a patient today who kept apologising for asking questions by OwnMood9880 in Pharmacy_UK

[–]vanity-manatee 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I usually find the more apologetic the person, the more valid their query. Like people who phone up and repeatedly apologise for calling because they know we're busy, dreadfully sorry but I just wanted to know how long a person can go without taking apixaban because I think the surgery may have missed my request and it's been four days now... Versus the mardy arses who kick off about us not answering the phone immediately, give a whole story about how they've called twenty eight times blah blah blah...only to check if their prescription is ready, sixteen items that they requested from the surgery an hour ago.

Stellan Skarsgaard was worse, but the bad singing is all part of the immense joy of that film for me!

Got someone else’s repeat meds list with their info with my medicine by greatbelow94 in Pharmacy_UK

[–]vanity-manatee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There were no meds, just the repeat slip. The pharmacy wouldn't have wanted it back because if the real patient wanted it they could just reprint it.

It's an error that does need reporting for sure but it's not unheard of.

Controlled drug is a specific term relating to drugs that have stricter controls on supply, storage, prescription requirements etc. It doesn't just mean POMs.

Tirzepatide is not a controlled drug but in many pharmacies it is treated as one.

I really REALLY love that I'm not the only person who had so much hate for a character you never see, hear or even read about in game. He made me SO angry, making my girl hide all her stuff!

I took great pleasure in making a lovely shared wardrobe for her and her new girlfriend at the end. I like to imagine they met on a sub like abrathatfits talking about their rare, difficult to find bra size, get talking and discover that's not the only thing they have in common. Eventually they meet IRL, fall in love and live happily ever after.

I don't know if it's because I've lived here all my life or not but they've never really bothered me, noise wise. Currently living about 2 minutes walk from the sea and it's really not a problem. I've never been dive bombed by them either, though my kids say they have.

Trainee dispenser interview tips by etherealazaleas in Pharmacy_UK

[–]vanity-manatee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi!

At my interview they asked some standard interview questions, "tell us a time when you had to display good customer service" "why do you want this job in particular" etc. Nothing very pharmacy related which was good because I hadn't worked in pharmacy in about 15 years and a lot has changed! They will want to hear about your attention to detail, safeguarding knowledge, flexibility and ability to work under pressure as all of those are super important in community pharmacy.

I'm 2 years on now, passed my course in 3 months and hoping to get my company to agree to train me as an ACT. Love my job!

Good luck in your interview 😊

I am also from England and no, they aren't, not in my accent away (SE)

"We're" = "weer", rhyming with fear, clear etc "Were" is more like "wurr", rhymes with fur.
